We see it regularly with awards where the community votes are frequently copied from someone who's told them how to vote or not given much thought at all. It may not feel right to the people not considered, and that's fair, but there's not a good way to both reasonably and correctly do that while also considering each applicant fairly and holistically.
Generally speaking, SHL HO has ran a strong league and continues to grow well because of the unified vision that comes from a more centralized power structure, I get that this hire is contentious but every hiring process where there's multiple good applicants and only one position will be contentious to some extent.
again i was speaking from my experiences, which i think S56 would be outside of that range. PBE coded out GM and Co-GM, and every team just has two GMs so there isnt an HO hiring process every time a "head" GM steps down. The PBE version of the HO hiring two of their own was also met with a very vocal dissent and disapproval, and yes while the two were qualified and there was alot of noise in that situation prior to the announcement of the hirings, the hirings themselves were also negatively viewed and seen as an HO takeover of the team, and HO took a lot of heat for it. Someone else here who was there for that could probably clarify a little better or correct me, as I'm going off memory, but the optics on the situation were terrible and I'm seeing this play out exactly the same

I have read through the rulebook and I have not seen any rules that state a sitting CO-GM auto locks the open GM position.
Should I ignore all other applications and pick you just because you're co?
Not only ignore my own opinion but also not in any way fall back on the rulebook?
I am confident in my own opinions, they are neither Jess's opinion or anyone else's on HO.

were you aware of minnesota's internal situation? please, enlighten me with your logic here. just because we're happy with cord as our GM doesn't mean that we're immediately going to say "we love HO for how they handled this situation".

i mean, you could clarify your opinion on the matter, voice your opinion here and how you voted. im with waters on this, its embarrassing that 1) GM and Co-GM are still titled separately when duties are practically if not totally identical; and 2) a Co-GM doesn't auto-succeed a GM after a GM departure. How could he not take it as insulting that the leading hierarchy of the league decided to not give him a chance with the reins despite all the time and effort spent there? you can be confident in your opinions but a lot of people here arent confident in you.
The cool thing about all of this was HO firing waters as head gm, then coming into our server and asking him to apply as Co-GM. That was pretty cool and showed how well thought out this all was!
