Leafs Off-Season

Well after reading this my mind is a little iffy on re-signing Bozak.

As much as I love him as a player I think it's time to move on. Kadri now needs to play top 6 and by the looks of Grabovski during the playoffs he is back to form. I also believe it's time for Colborne to step up and play that 3rd line centre role. My one problem about not re-signing him now is we won't have that go to faceoff guy.

Let's just sign Tim Thomas like I said from the start

Or just stick with Reimer instead of some old fart who has an attitude problem and hasn't played hockey in a year. Tongue

Thomas would be a superb backup/mentor. Play maybe 15-20 games.

Thomas is not coming back to be a fuckin backup lol

Yeah, no matter what you need a good back-up in case Reimer has a blowout(See: MaF).

Thomas would be a superb back-up, as long as you don't let him watch Fox News on the bench.

True but he won't want to play backup haha. I wish we traded for Nikolai Khabibulin at the deadline, that's of course if he doesn't retire this season. Then again Scrivens is still pretty good for a backup.

All Khabibulin will teach Reimer is how to drink and drive. He's well past his prime and isn't the most technically sound goalie to help Reimer. And definitely avoid Thomas as far as technical goaltenders go he's probably the most unorthodox. Not what you need mentoring a young goalie

Thank you to My boys @Merica and @Ragnar for the lovely sigs!

Khabibulin is a solid goalie still. To mentor something you don't necessarily have to be in your prime. I'm still happy with Reimer - Scrivens.

I think they could go after Backstrom, he'd be a good mentor and could start 40+ games. Also Deen glad you finally agree with me on Bozak and Grabo, bout time. I do still think they need a veteran centre. Depth down the middle cost this team dearly in game 7. Couldn't win a faceoff when it mattered most. You look at any good team in the NHL and it has solid depth down the middle of the ice. If they can't get Bozak or Weiss at least get a vet like Antropov to fill the middle that will be cheap.

Also how do people think Tim Thomas would come to Canada, isn't he like very far right? If he can't handle the U.S. democrats how the hell is he gonna deal with our politics.

I was just blinded by my love for him Tongue I still hope he returns to the Leafs as a 3C but if not I hope he the best of luck.

Do any of you guys think Colborne is ready to possibly try the NHL? Nonis has said he wants to get the younger guys chances and personally I think Colborne deserves it.

I would love to get Backstrom but if we do and he starts 40ish games and stops Reimer from playing 60 everyone will say "oh he hasn't played 60 games, he isn't proven yet" lol. No but seriously, Backstrom would be a sick pick up.
