Leafs Off-Season

If I was Nonis, my plan this offseason would be Ribeiro or bust.

i just think its hilarious how him not wanting to go to the white house to meet O'Bama turned into he wont play for a Canadian team because of their politics.

media can really overblow things.

Yeah, I want Ribeiro really badly but I think WSH wants to keep him.

I love Ribeiro but I don't see him being available on July 1

Well when you refuse to meet the president with yor teammates it shows you're pretty serious about it. A lot of guys don't agree with his politics but they still go take the picture and shake his hand.

I'm not saying for sure he wouldn't come cause of that but it could definitely be in his mind.

Idk but Kessel will make him back into the player he was a few years ago.

Who would you be giving up for Statsny? Avs won't give him up for another center, it would likely take help on the backend.

And no, Thomas made his not visiting the White House into a big spectacle. If he had just kept his mouth shut, no one would have said anything. But HE made it into a big deal and went full-on crazy-tinfoil-hat. And I don't think he would last in Canada either.

I personally wouldn't want to meet him but that's just me. It's a team activity so he should have shut his mouth and sucked it up, but Obama is among the least appetizing people in the world I'd want to meet in general

Thank you to My boys @Merica and @Ragnar for the lovely sigs!

I don't understand how Americans hate Obama but I don't want to turn this into a political argument.

I think they could go after Backstrom, he'd be a good mentor and could start 40+ games. Also Deen glad you finally agree with me on Bozak and Grabo, bout time. I do still think they need a veteran centre. Depth down the middle cost this team dearly in game 7. Couldn't win a faceoff when it mattered most. You look at any good team in the NHL and it has solid depth down the middle of the ice. If they can't get Bozak or Weiss at least get a vet like Antropov to fill the middle that will be cheap.

I highly doubt Backstrom would come to Toronto to back up Reimer. He'd only sign if he was starter.

You don't want to hear half of the inanities I hear about Obama. But, it happens with every president. If you look at every American Presidential election as a neutral observer, you would think "Fucking Christ, how did EITHER of these fucks get in a position to be elected, let alone stay out of Prison".

The problem is, the American public picks one or the other, and then confirmation bias' the other person into some bastard, despite the fact that both candidates are equally as awful.

Two-party system sucks. But yeah, lets keep it off here.

I doubt that would get it done, they probably don't want JML back, and unless they are trading O'Reilly, they don't have a need for Grabo.

Prospect would have to be pretty appetizing, IMO.
