I don't see why a rebuilding team takes a 33 year old dman when they need some good dmen, likely young

Actually, a lot of HFBoards poster(Shut up, I know) seem to think the Caps will entertain trading Backstrom for the point of a shakeup. If so, THAT is who you go after.

I know they probably don't want him but they have so much cap room. If they need dman then give them a prospect dman. This is just what I would want to happen, probably wouldn't.

eh, I like him but I would rather Ribeiro. I'm just not confident in Backstrom, he has the tendency to be a "lazy player" I believe.

Nah, between the two you go with Backstrom 99/100 times.

Backstrom is probably one of the more underrated players in the league. He's a phenomenal two-way player, and there are actually very few players in the league that can pass better then him.

He needs to shoot more though, that's really the only complaint you could have against him, because he's a good shooter too.

ahh no thanks. 1st overall should not be traded at this point. Maybe I'm over valuing Frattin but I really believe he has the potential to be a top6 forward and I really like him haha. Throw in another prospect instead of the 21st overall. To be honest though I don't see them trading him. They made the playoffs. Ovi and Backstrom should never be split.

He is definitely underrated and one of the better passers but Ribeiro is as well. Only big difference I see between them is the age and money.

Yea Im unsure if Nonis would even trade it unless we could get someone like Eric Staal (This is an example don't hate) Nonis pretty much said they are picking. We could get a solid center prospect with that pick. Plus I don't even see Capitals trading Backstrom
