our offensive lineup is not 'incredible' and our goaltending situation remains shaky at best. Reimer took a good step forward but still has some glaring weaknesses and appears to be an average NHL goalie.

I believe this team is on the right track and has a lot of good young players on the way through the system but you my friend are blinded by optimism.

Yeah your right, how offensive lineup is that good. Just top 5 the past two years, whatever. Reimer is an average goalie right now yes and that's all you need. Also every goalie has weaknesses.

I have to go so I'm going to end it with this.

IMO Trading Dion is a huge step back. We can make the playoffs and doing this trade hurts us.

Your offense was the among the worst in terms of puck possession that makes them the Incredible? Your teams built rush offense they can't keep a puck in the zone very long there needs to be more offensive zone set up. Obviously the D needs some improvement but the offense needs to build a cycle game so your not stuck in your zone all the time. Scoring on 10% of ur shots for 82games is impossible so they need to control the game and none of your forwards do(Kadri looks like he could help). You need guys who aren't afraid to play with the puck abit and set up Kessel Lupal and JVR are shot first.

Yes we have improvements that need to be made like I said. There is nothing wrong with being a rush style team btw... Obvs we won't be that team with Carlyle as coach. Top 5 in scoring two years in arrow is a success.

Why tf would they trade Phaneuf away for a pick ?

Because you think trading Dion is a step back regardless of what we get in return. End of story. Which isn't true, at all. He's a good solid NHL defenceman. He is not irreplaceable.

Actually if the pick were 7th overall it would be pretty smart.

People are missing the fact that Phaneuf is a 28-year-old defenceman in his contract year, making $6.5 million. He is solid but brings nothing special to the table. I don't get why some people are so in love with him.

I like him, he's not the worst defenceman ever contrary to what some people believe. But if a team calls up offering the 7th overall pick, that's a no-brainer.
