Belov I woukd say is abit better at his inzone play than Phanuef but less physical and offensive. He looks like he could be a great FA signing I'd he pans out. Phanuef is overpayed I'd say hes a 5mill range D vs 6+ and this is coming from a phanuef flames fan (had his flames jeresey but it got trashrd by accident one day lol)

You didn't watch him much this season did you? He rarely went for the big hit this season. I have never been a big fan of Dion but he is another player that so many people have started thinking that he is over-rated that he is under-rated now lol. He join Luongo in that club.

He rarely goes for the big hit anymore. It's a little depressing tbh. I feel that's when he plays his best. If he is overpaid it's only by like 1Mish. He is defintely worth 5.5M.

I've heard different reports to be honest, I actually talked with a Avangard fan and he said that his defensive play is the best part of his game and that offence is just an added bonus, mean and tough in front of his net etc.



Obviously we will see when he gets over there but i've read a lot of different reports on what his style of play is, most of the reports are from North America and im sure very few have actually seem him play. So im going to wait until training camp before I decide what kind of dman he is.

I hear he is big and mean, can produce a lot of offence, booming shot, mobile, meh in his own end.

Phaneuf isnt elite doe and Scheifele is a beast, he has like 90% of panning out. Anyway Phaneuf for 7th overall is good for both teams, Edmonton needs a good dman to play with Schultz, Toronto needs one more young piece in fwd and I can see them going after a Monahan or Lindholm. One of them with Kadri would be a good 1-2 punch at center in the future, I think Morgan Rielly could be ready in the 14-15 season. And u guys are still in the rebuild, adding a piece like a Lindholm or Monahan (Whos a real beast) would do Toronto some good. Phaneuf can be replaced.

I would take Phaneuf over Domi and Zadorov anyday. I havent heard to much about Niceshkin or Nurse.

I can't say shit about the other guys as I don't know much about them. I know very little about Nurse but from what I know he sounds great.

Man the 2013 draft is so solid that Phaneuf is worth a top 10 pick, hes not an all star dman like you think, hes not even top pair on some NHL teams. 7th pick for Phaneuf would be a good deal for both sides.

He would be a top pair on most teams. Of course he won't on all because they already have there top pairing...

I'm not saying that's not a good trade value wise. I'm saying it's a bad trade because it pulls us away chance wise for a playoff spot
