I had enough of HF for today. I can see why some people dislike the our Internet Fanbase. Fucking Idiots all crying on why we passed on Shinkuark. Gauither is a solid prospect and I knew he was gonna be a Leaf and I have been wanting him for awhile. Potentially the best defensive forward in this draft with Offensive Upside. I dont see the problem with the pick plus he is 6'5 and still has room to grow, could be a Poor Man's Jordan Staal. There is a reason why 10-15 Other GM's passed on Hunter.

It's not like we pulled a Calgary and reached on a guy from the mid second. Gauthier was projected anywhere from 15-23.

There are people comparing him to Colborne on HF. Shows how much they know. Just put them on your ignore list.

Like I was saying earlier, Gauthier is going to be the 1C on what should be one of the best teams in the CHL next year. His offensive numbers should go up dramatically and he had a great showing at the U-18 so he may even get a look for the WJC. Right now his game is defensive but watching him there is 2C potential and I think this season coming while be huge for his development.

I'm really hoping this guy improves his offensive game. If he does he can turn into a great 2C. If not he will still be a solid 3C. Still wish we would have grabbed Hunter but what's done is done.

Luckily you guys have an amazing 3C/OK 2C to fall back on if Bozak can't re-sign. His game faltered a bit in the playoffs, but he looked good in the Finals. Enjoy Bolland, we'll gladly take 3 more prospects.

but he's not being biased, i've seen him play...he's unreal in the defensive end and was probably the best defensive forward in the league and he can score

Actually all the scouts and analysts said he is the best defensive forward in the draft with a offensive upside.

It'll be interesting to see if he makes the team out of camp. On one hand, he's got great size and isn't that lanky, seems to be grown into his body, he also plays excellent D and could play a role similar to what Couturier did in his rookie season. On the other hand, maybe keeping him down will be better for developing his offensive game and for him all around since he's only played one season in the Q.

Thinking it over, I'd keep him down. We're very deep at centre now and it's probably best for Gauthier's development.

I really don't see any reason to keep him up. I'd leave him in junior for the next 2 seasons honestly. This season he is going to be the best forward(arguably best player) on what should be one of the top teams in the country, that will be great for his development in my opinion. Plus the Leafs have shown that they won't rush prospects, Gauthier would be being rushed if they put him on the team this year.

Yeah and I think since he only had one season in the Q it would be best that he goes back.

I'll tell you what though, the more and more I see and read about this guy the more I like him. Apparently he was tested as one of the fastest skaters in the draft. Add onto the fact that he is 6'5, a beast defensively, and has a high motor, kid has a lot of appealing tools tbh. Just hoping he can develop his offensive game.
