Gardiner played amazing for his rookie year, this year was a step back due to his concussion and not getting consistent playing time. But he played quite good in the playoffs. I mean Lupul also who is arguably our best all around player. And the fact that Gardiner is 22. lol Plenty of time to become a star and he has all the tools to do so if he keeps progressing.

Just because it's a cap dump doesn't mean you can write it off for your benefit. We got rid of a Lupul who didn't fit into our roster. And Gardiner who has played one season for the best defensemen on our team and a great player who finished 4th in Norris voting this year.
