I got a very good offer for Fourfour from Malcontent as well but where I just traded for 701 I couldn't see a reasoning for it. Obviously it's a bit different in this case and you got fair value, it just doesn't seem like a useful trade unless you're second guessing JayWhy. Just my thoughts on it though

No, I understand the point of view. I just disagree with it. If I'm out of the playoffs and going to lose what I traded for nothing, I'd rather at least have an active asset for the next two seasons regardless of position. I've got plenty of faith in both goalies.

There are other teams in the league looking to compete. You could have gotten a different position or a more useful pick.

Teams can also run two goalie systems, similar to what we're doing this year. Both players are retiring, better to get an asset in return now then get no return at all.

You'd be surprised how many GMs don't want to add rentals actually. If I could have gotten better value, I would have done it. I don't jump into things.

I'm very happy with FourFour and think he brings a great presence to our locker room and will be able to push JayWhy to be better, and vice versa.
