7/10 - Alright movie that is made that much better by Al Pacino's fantastic performance. As it set up the story, it was a little tough to get into, but ultimately turned into a pretty entertaining 2 hours. Not the classic it was billed to be, but still a quality movie.

8/10 - Really good film. The shocking true story of Gerry Conlon and his friends is presented with shocking beauty and power with fabolous acting from the entire cast, especially Daniel Day-Lewis, Emma Thompson, and Pete Postelthwaite. Really well done all around.

8/10 - Just a genuinely happy movie. It leaves feeling good at the end and makes you want to watch it again. Great acting all-around as see a boy's journey to his dreams. Touching, heartfelt, and beautiful are great words to sum this one up.

7/10 - Good and entertaining movie. Certainly plenty of funny moments complimented with an interesting storyline and good performances from the quite star-studded cast (Stiller, Wilson, Farrell).

9/10 - Awesome film. Pacino and De Niro put together fantastic performances that truly make the movie, as well as complimentary great performances from the rest of the cast. Michael Mann outdid himself in directing this flick.

6/10 - Ok movie right here. Jim Carrey kills it, however, the rest of movie feels as though it's missing something, like something feels a little off (which I guess is appropriate).

4/10 - Great action sequences complimented by a boring plot. Action movies should keep you on the edge of your seat waiting for what happens, but with the predictability and lack of intrigue packed into this one, it's a slow two hours.

5/10 - An interesting premise as this one focuses more on the daily activities of the soldiers than battles. Thus, one would assume that there would be solid character development, yet this movie seems to think giving hometowns and showing where everyone wound up counts as character development. Ultimately, "Jarhead" winds up feeling like Platoon without the intrigue. Without characteristically great performances from Jake Gyllenhaal and Jamie Foxx, there wouldn't be much reason to tune into this one.

8/10 - Beautiful, extravagent, and as over the top as one would expect, Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby does a brilliant job capturing the beauty and wealth possessed by Gatsby. This film is pure eye candy, yet it does have some substance beneath it and I think it did a swell job capturing the essence of the novel and telling the fateful tale of Jay Gatsby. In addition, the acting, led by Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Carey Mulligan, was great as well.

Only negatives in this film were the beginning, which was far too hectic and scattered, as well as the soundtrack. While I am a fan of hip hop, it seemed extraordinarily out of place in this film, which is supposed to be set in the 1920's. More period appropriate music should have chosen and ultimately, the soundtrack made it seem almost clumsy. However, the sets were beyond gorgeous and with beautiful shot after shot, this should win best production and best costume design on pure beauty alone. Just wow, the eye candy of each shot admittedly won my heart.

6/10 - Awesome acting from the entire cast, but the four main guys; Bale, Affleck, Harrellson, and Defoe, in particular. Scott Cooper did really well in the director's chair, but damn, a little slow for me and the plot, if you can call it that, left much to be desired. Easily my biggest disappointment of the year. It's not horrible, but damn, it's definitely middle of the road.

Acting was superb, could barely notice it was dubbed. Special effects were pretty good as well. Mothra was quite the enemy. Great movie

The Heat - 8/10.

Some may argue, but this movie is funny as shit. Melissa McCarthy is one of my favourite actors/actresses. Soo funny and the character she plays is a riot.

This is kind of odd, but for the past week I've been having romantic-drama/ Emotional movie marathons. Nay, I am not homosexual and am in fact straighter than straight, however, these movies tend to appeal to me. I like movies than can make you feel the emotions so strongly that maybe the characters are feeling? Not sure how to explain It. I mean, I'm all for horror films, however, more so towards comedy and these types.

Anyways,

Decided to give Dear John a chance today and it was pretty good. Brought quite a few tears and was overall a decent movie.

Yesterday, watched The Vow and it was also sad.

And today after I finished Dear John, had a smoke break and than bought "The Time Traveler's Wife" on Xbox (Where I buy them all) and shiiiiit son, good movie and a tear jerker at the end. Cried like a fucking baby/

Find it real hard to see you as straight after seeing your rep ups to that chick that joined.

That is the plus rep of someone masking their homosexuality.

7/10 - Pretty good all around. Had a good amount of intrigue, thrills, and action, to keep your attention throughout this one. It was a little confusing at times, but wrapped up pretty nicely.

[Image: 220px-State_of_Play_theatrical_poster.jpg]

8/10 - I really liked this one. It was incredibly engaging and tense from the very beginning and kept you guessing, you never really knew what was coming around the corner. I really liked all the performances and the directing was incredibly well done and honestly, this is how a political thriller should be.

[Image: 220px-Gallipoli_original_Australian_poster.jpg]

7/10 - Really good film. The acting is great throughout and the direction is phenomenal. It is as tragic as one might expect and certainly leaves you wondering about the point of war and if allowing these young men to do actually has some kind of positive impact. Top notch war film.

7/10 - Pretty good overall. It certainly doesn't fail to keep you invested in the characters and with Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey doing great jobs as expected, this one is taken to another level over your run-of-the-mill thriller. Only complaints are that the ending is quite predictable and disappointing after the rest of the film and that it could have been trimmed a tad, but regardless, this one is still enjoyable.

8/10 - Wow. Easily the most jarring, uncomfortable, and disturbing film I have ever seen. There are no words really. I loved the performances here, especially by Jared Leto and Jennifer Connelly. In addition, after not really caring for the only other Aronofsky film I have seen before, Pi, he won me over here. The direction was incredibly unique and brilliantly done.

8/10 - Yes, The Illusionist is not very believable, however, that does not mean it does not allow you to suspend what you know to be true for the two hour spectacle, just as in Eisenheim's performances. Edward Norton shines as always in the lead role and is central to mystical and magical nature of the film that makes it so enjoyable.

I'm on my nineteenth baseball movie since break started. It's called The Perfect Game, about the 1957 LLWS. At the championship game that year, the pitcher of a young Mexican team threw a... take a guess.

6/10 - Pretty good little movie here and an interesting character study. However, it is a tad too short and it feels as though it glosses over far too many key issues that it should go more in-depth into. Ultimately, it is enjoyable and provides a few unexpected laughs.

2/10 - I'm ashamed to admit I chuckled a few times, but largely, I just laughed at the fact that this was made. Someone out there thought this was a good idea and managed to get A-List actors involved. While it is horrible, it should be seen by anyone in the mood to watch something awful.

8/10 - A unique blend of comedy and horror, this film is infinitely enjoyable. Christian Bale kills it as psychotic serial killer Patrick Bateman. I never expected myself to find a movie of this type funny, but it most certainly is at times, while the horror scenes are certainly suitably bloody and terrifying. Really good film.

8/10 - Really entertaining overall. Funny, action-packed, and intriguing, Men in Black is successful on really every front you could ask from a summer blockbuster. Not ground-breaking cinema in the least, this one is still a fun watch with great performances from Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith.

7/10 - Good movie. Terrence Howard kills it in the lead role and helps Hustle & Flow elevate from your classic hip hop drama to a much better movie. Ultimately, it winds up being a very interesting look at how rappers may have "flow", but they need "hustle" most importantly to make it in the rap game.
