Kid Ink - My Own Lane</div>

Hello World: 2.75/5
The Movement: 3/5
Show Me (ft. Chris Brown): 2.5/5
Iz U Down (ft. Tyga): 3/5
We Just Came to Party (ft. August Alsina): 2.5/5
Main Chick (ft. Chris Brown): 3/5
No Option (ft. King Los): 2.75/5
Murda (ft. Pusha T): 3.75/5
Rollin: 3.5/5
Tattoo of My Name: 3.5/5
No Miracles (ft. Elle Varner & MGK): 3.5/5
I Don’t Care (ft. Maejor Ali): 3/5
More Than A King: 3/5

Rating: 3.06/5

There is never anything worse than an artist who makes poppy radio songs yet have no pop appeal and are still an unknown. These artists are usually recognized by having multiple Chris Brown features (check), songs about obscure and vague women (check), bad singing (check), and party boy lyrics (check). There are a few solid tracks here, such as "Murda" (thanks Pusha for saving this one), "Rollin", "Tattoo of My Name", and the obligatory wannabe popular artists "deep" track "No Miracles". He has some small appeal, in that some of his tracks are listenable and enjoyable when I'm in the mood to listen to something horrible, but other than that, this was the wrong way to start rap in 2014.

Isaiah Rashad - Clivia Demo</div>

Hereditary: NA/5
-Not long enough to be rated, but I love the atmospheric feel of this one. Rashad sounds good as well.
Webbie Flow (U Like): 3.25/5
-Brimming with sexual energy, this track features some nice rhymes at times, but not enough to just a high rating.
Clivia Demo: 4/5
-Early on, I can tell why TDE picked him up. He's not as refined as the rest of the group as of now, but he's got the same laid back style characteristic of the rest of the label. Overall, this track is pretty nice. Relatively easy listening.
R.I.P. Kevin Miller: 3/5
Ronnie Drake (ft. SZA): 3.5/5
-Rashad is nice and all, but at this point, all of these tracks really sound the same and his voice has yet to change. This is getting tad boring.
West Savannah (ft. SZA): 3/5
-Ugh, this is the track at which I lost attention, which is the true sign of a mediocre tape.
Solioquoy: 4/5
-"Leave the bodies on the cul-de-sac, follow me the cult is back/Sippin' on that cognac and that Jim Jones" is a really sweet line, but to follow it up with a line like, "Watching movies like damn that Vince Vaughn is a funny cat", made me do a double take and begin to cry and the lost potential. Still a really nice track with a good beat that Rashad flows to well.
Tranquility: 2.75/5
-A little too calming because I fell asleep.
Menthrol (ft. Jean Deaux): 4/5
-Mmmmmm now this is a song. Good hook and Rashad actually changed his voice on this one a bit, which really helps pull you in instead of putting you to sleep.
Modest: 4.25/5
-Really liked the final verse on this one.
Heavenly Father: 4/5
Banana: 3.75/5
-Woah, Rashad showing tons of emotion as this one gets going. Needs to do more of that. Didn't care for the hook though.
Brad Jordan (ft. Michael Da Vinci): 3.25/5
Shot You Down (ft. Schoolboy Q & Jay Rock): 3.5/5
-A bit long.

46.25/65 -> 3.56/5

Honestly a solid first project from Rashad. He was a tad boring at times, but on some tracks, he showed tons of potential and really brought his A-game. Now, he just needs to work on his consistency.

This is the third album for School Boy Q of TDE fame, and it is a very worthy edition to the TDE catalog. I am not a big Q fan, in fact he is the last of the big 4 in my opinion in terms of flow and lyrical ability. So to say I went in with low expectations would be an understatement and thankfully, I came out of this album happily surprised.

The beats bang hard. A lot of 808 drums and high level synth cords really make it a good one to head bop to. This is really evident in Collard Greens, Oxymoron and Man of the Year. Q also does a good job of riding these beats well, with some of the best word play I have heard from him. He is also able to get deep with his work which is evident on his standout track "Prescription/Oxymoron", which finds Q talking about his addictions.

The biggest gripes with this album is that some of the beats are bad especially on "What They Want ft . 2 Chainz" which is just a trainwreck of a song. His flow can also get annoying from time to time which has always been a gripe of mine.

Good album, with some flaws and no where near the level of GKMC.

Just a heads up JT: The album hasn't leaked in its entirety. There's three tracks from the standard edition you're missing. Not even counting the two deluxe tracks.

ScHoolboy Q - Oxymoron</div>

Gangsta: 4/5
-Goes really Hard. THe Hook is Hard-Hitting as fuck and tHe beat is really solid. I was not a Huge fan of His verses initially, but in HindsigHt, tHey really work well for tHis particular track. Ultimately, a solid "gangsta track" tHat we all wanted from Q.

Los Awesome (ft. Jay Rock): 4.25/5
-No matter How many times I listen to tHis, I can never get a full grasp on it. It is so off tHe reservation tHat I Have no idea How to feel. PHarrell's beat is ligHt and extremely fast paced, wHicH is exactly tHe opposite I typically expect from Q. Every listen tHougH, I love tHe lines: "Coke go in tHe pot, arm and Hammer body / A$AP.Rocky, want it I could get it", like tHat's tHe perfect flow from Q tHat I always keep coming back for. I initially loved tHis wHen Hearing a snippet, but if I Had rated after just one listen, I would Have given tHis one around a 3 or so, but tHe more I listen to it, tHe more I love it. Jay Rock's verse is sHort, but on point and continues His Hot streak on guest features. Cannot wait for Jay Rock's follow-up to Follow Me Home at tHis rate.

Collard Greens (ft. Kendrick Lamar): 4.5/5
-It is Hard to say tHat Q did not get renegaded Here. Now, His verse is very good, but tHe second Kendrick comes in and drops His spanisH bit, tHe song is His. Love Q, but Kendrick fucking slaugHters Him Here witHout question Here. THe constant beat switcHing during Kendrick's verse before tHe return to tHe original for tHe Hook and Q's verse are botH original and really Help to liven up tHe song furtHer. It is also a great tool to sHow Kendrick's ability to flow over wHatever you give Him and cHange up His flow in an instant. WHile Q kills tHis track as well, in my mind, Kendrick uses tHis track as yet anotHer example of just How great He truly is.

WHat THey Want (ft. 2 CHainz): 4.25/5
-Everyone Has been trasHing tHis track since tHe album leaked, but ever since my ears first Heard tHis track in a snippet, I Have been in love. Now, it is not my favorite track on tHe album, but tHe beat is banging and would easy to bump, yet, it sort of plays a secondary role as Q and 2 CHainz Honestly go in Here. Not a Huge 2 CHainz fan, but He did really well Here. Now, tHey are not kicking knowledge or anytHing, but tHat is not a problem. To me, tHis feels like a "puff your cHest" out macHo kind of track and I am totally cool witH tHat.

Hoover Street: 2/5
-I Have Heard tHis one multiple times and it Honestly just does not work for me. THe beat switcH does not Help at all and one of my least favorite tHings tHat rappers do is tHis kind of stunted flow sort of tHing wHere tHey just say one line, pause, one line, pause, one line. WHile Q starts flowing a bit once His first verse finally kicks in and Has a really nice verse, tHis is not really wHat I am looking for, especially in terms of tHe beat. WHen it comes to guys wHo are not overly lyrical, tHey rely a lot on tHe beat and tHe Hook to be banging and catcHy, respectively, and tHe beat does not bang and tHe Hook makes me want tHe Hook to end. THis track was blessed witH more introspective Q verses wHere Q speaks on His background a lot, but tHe tHe aforementioned beat and Hook fuck tHat up.

Studio (ft. BJ tHe CHicago Kid): 4.75/5
-GosH man, BJ tHe CHicago Kid Hook is just so laid back and elegant, it makes me feel like I'm faded rigHt now. Of course, it is overly sexual, but tHis is probably tHe closest we get to Q being romantic. It is also extremely reminiscent of "Sex Drive" off of Habits & Contradictions, wHicH is not a bad comparison for it Have. THe beat works perfectly and captures tHat laid back, sensual atmospHere tHat tHis track needs. THis is tHe perfect switcH up between classic Q Hard-Hitting tracks to kind of slow it down a bit.

Prescription/Oxymoron: 4.5/5
-"Prescription" is tHe perfect Q track. THe beat is good and I loved Q's look at drugs and tHeir effects on Him. Honestly, tHis is wHat "Hoover Street" could Have been. A bit more introspective tHan usual and yet, tHe quality does not slack at all. It also serves as a perfect lead in to "Oxymoron", wHicH is way more typical Q track witH tHat same Hard-Hitting beat and wHile Q ain't on some lyrical sHit too, it completely works on tHis track. It's a nice way to sum up "Oxymoron", really, as tHese two tracks really are a great juxtaposition.

THe Purge (ft. Tyler, tHe Creator & Kurupt): 3.25/5
-You can tell rigHt away tHat tHis is a Tyler, tHe Creator beat. As mucH as I would Have loved to get a verse from Him Here as I feel like He could do a really good job on tHis beat (as evidenced by tHe A+ Hook), I do love getting a verse from Kurupt. Not a Huge fan of Q's verses as He seems to just be rambling and saying random sHit. Honestly, even Kurupt's verse falls flat in comparison to tHe Hook. THe song is tHe Hook and as mucH as I love tHe Hook, tHe verses need to be better. In addition, tHe beat is great and deserved better verses.

tl;dr tHis track is tHe opposite of Hoover Street

Blind THreats (ft. Raekwon): 5/5
-Oooooooo tHis beat. THis tHe sHit I want. THe Hook is on point and wHile we are sitting Here waiting for Raekwon to grab tHe beat and kick some great bars, ScHoolboy Q sHocks everyone and drops some of tHe best verses of His life. THe flow is perfect and His bars on point. THen we get Raekwon and God, it feels like sometHing from back in tHe day at tHis point. Raekwon never disappoints and He absolutely kills it. I lean towards saying He renegades Q, but I tHink Q Honestly Holds His own Here.

Hell of a NigHt: 4.25/5
-Love tHe atmospHeric intro and outro and Honestly, for wHat I originally tHougHt was a banger, tHis one definitely Has tHe verses to matcH tHe great beat.

Break tHe Bank: 4/5
-Least favorite single for sure. Just does not Have tHe "it" tHat tHe otHer ones do. However, Q's verses are certainly on point wHicH tHey seem to be a lot on tHis album so far, wHicH is sHocking to me as it is not wHat I expected. THe Hook is wHere most of my problems arise as it is very mucH like tHe Hook for "Gangsta" in terms of tHe Hard-Hitting nature of it (tHougH tHis Hook adds in a bit of low-key singing from Q), and wHile I tHink it works nicely in tHe track overall, it Honestly...I don't know, tHis one does not really click for me.

Man of tHe Year: 5/5
-Was a great track witH a dope beat and Hook wHen we first Heard it at tHe end of tHe "BitcH, Don't Kill My Vibe" video and tHis track. THis is mutHafuckin Q. YAWK YAWK YAWK.

His & Her Friend (ft. SZA): 2.25/5
-THe intro is dope as Hell and I like SZA on tHe Hook, but otHer tHan tHat, tHis one is a swing and a miss for me. Q gets just one verse, wHicH makes no sense and SZA dominates mucH of tHe track. In addition, tHe beat is not really my type of tHang and tHe voice distortion of Q really ruins wHat He Has to say. Apparently tHis one is supposed to be from tHe perspective of a pill, wHicH is an ok idea I suppose, but in practice, tHe results are not tHat good.

Grooveline Pt. 2 (ft. Suga Free): 2.75/5
-WE ALL BUMP SUGA FREE, except for me. His verse Here is not really tHat good, but at least He brings more energy tHan Q. For a guy wHo is so cHarismatic typically, Q sounds really..,bored and uninspired Here. I get tHat He wants to mix it up and not every track can be wild and crazy Q, but tHis one Honestly feels more like filler tHan a track tHat needs to actually be Here.

Fuck LA: 4.5/5
-THe second I Heard tHis beat and tHe intro to tHis one, I was like, "OH sHit..." THe Hook comes in and puncHes you rigHt in tHe face. I mean, tHat sHit alone bumps Hard. "Asian broads eat Caucasian broads, guess I'm dipped in sauce" did make me lol, also dat Kanye reference. It's Hard not to nod your Head to tHis beat, like damn Nez & Rio crafted sucH a perfect beat for an angry gangster banger. Q's flow is nice Here and His verses continue to exude tHe Hardness tHat tHe Hook does. Honestly, I cannot tHink of a better way to wrap up tHis album.

59.25/75 -> 3.95/5

Honestly, I am very content witH tHis one. I Had HigH expectations, yes, but Honestly, I feel like ScHoolboy Q lived up to tHem pretty well. He was never going to create a classic or tHe Album of tHe Year like He (jokingly) claimed He would. THis is not better tHan good kid, m.A.A.d city, but it is a damn good album. THe majority of tHe beats were Hard Hitting as expected and Q was also pretty impressive lyrically. Aside from Suga Free, tHe features were all on point, but since Suga Free is not tHere witHout reason, I cannot knock tHat cHoice too Hard. THe bad tracks are, well, bad. THere are a few I can already see myself skipping on my iTunes wHen tHey come up, but otHer tHan tHose few, I Heavily fuck witH tHe rest of tHe album. Glad I pre-ordered.
