Capital S52 Prospects

Hello all - right now all of the SMJHL GMs are digging through all of the new prospects and trying to figure out what works best for their needs, personality fit, activity level, and other things that might push them up their draft rankings.  Well today is your lucky day GMs, I'm going to do a bit of scouting for you.

I went through the interested prospect threads that have been submitted so far and have pulled out a few players that should surely be on your radar.  Personality fit is extremely important in the locker room and cannot be understated.  There is nothing worse for team morale (and thus activity) than a person that just ruffles feathers or is a complete pain in the ass.  So without further ado - below are the S52 prospects that have shown great decision making skills and have indicated that the Washington Capitals are their favorite NHL team.

With the signing today of Nicklas Backstrom to an additional 5 year / $46M contract I thought this be the right time to post this.

So that I don't show any bias among these very fine individuals I am listing them in order of player creation date as shown by their player page:
  • User:  @Zombiewolf - Player Name:   Jaska Seppala.     Zombiewolf is a recreate and first created with the SHL in December of 2016.  He wore the 'A' for Buffalo for 14 seasons and clearly is an awesome dude.   I say this not because I know Zombiewolf well - but for a few other, and arguably more important, reasons.   Clearly he's a caps fan, else he would not be included in such elite company, but he also chose Norris trophy snubbed John Carlson for his sig while playing as Charles Walker.  That's ok though, Carly's gotta be a top contender this year right?   If he was Canadian he'd already have it - amiright?   Also in one of the interested prospect threads when asked to post their favorite picture Zombie posted a picture of first line elite sniper Tom Wilson holding the Stanley Cup.   Who can't love this guy when that's the pic he goes with?   Clearly Ovi's scream and the hand off of the cup to Backy is iconic, but the Willy respect is strong.   Way to go Zombie!
  • User:  @"reid_sutherland" - Player Name:  Reid Sutherland.   Reid is the first of a few new players we have through the r/hockey draft we are running this season so the dataset on these players is clearly lower than those of a recreate.   Reid hails from the great white north, but has recognized that the Washington Capitals shall be represented throughout the globe.  He's building his player in the pass first spirit of supreme setup man Nicklas Backstrom.   This shows that beyond his great decision making skills, he is also a team oriented player and happy to help contribute.   As a fellow pass first center, I salute your work Reid!
  • User: @ChrisFromRMNB - Player Name: Chris Cerullo.   Chris is the second new player featured here today.   For those that don't recognize the name, he's a writer on the popular Capitals blog Russian Machine Never Breaks (https://russianmachineneverbreaks.com/) and found us through r/hockey as well.  Like many of the first gens featured here, Chris spent his first afternoon on the site figuring out what's going on, filling out Interested Prospect threads, and posting on this week's PT.  Looks like Chris will be a good earner and clearly knows how to write some media.  I seriously doubt money will be an issue for Chris.
  • User:  @Finetales - Player Name: Hiroshi Ohira.   Finetales stated that (s)he grew up in the DC area but is currently living in the LA area.   This shows some hometown loyalty that not all can say they have.   I'd bet that Finetales will become tied to their SMJHL team and will fight for it with a vengeance.  Their passion for things is strong - although I think it's safe to say that while Finetales does have great taste in hockey teams, their taste buds are clearly flawed as In-N-Out burgers are delicious.  While I am here to pump you up, you are kinda losing me on this one.   Even so - still beats a Pens fan (#FuckThePens)

I'll try to keep this list updated as I see more great people join.  And while I'm sure that some of the other recruits will be fine players, this is clearly going to be the cream of the crop.  All first rounders for sure.

Excuse me, my taste buds are FLAWLESS. (Animal Style on the burger makes it a LOT better though.) I appreciate the pump-up though. FTP.
