Which is the SHL's favorite planet?

I asked the members of the SHL what their favorite planet was in this thread.

At the time of writing, fifty people responded. Here are the results.

NINTH PLACE

MERCURY

Poor Mercury. He wasn't loved by anyone, only getting zero votes.

EIGHTH PLACE

VENUS

Venus only got two votes as the favorite. Another underappreciated planet. Maybe she's hot. She is hot. She was too hot.

SEVENTH PLACE

MARS

I'm very surprised that this guy is less popular than I thought, only getting four votes. Not the worst, but really, come on. Mars is cool. Literally. He's colder than Earth. Come on.

SIXTH PLACE

SATURN

[Image: 1-voyager-1-photo-of-saturn-its-rings-nasa.jpg]

The giant ringed planet didn't get much love, as the sixth planet came in sixth place. Five votes, which means one out of ten people said Saturn was their favorite planet. I mean, just look at him. He's a bit bland, but with his impressive rings, surely he deserves a higher place?

FIFTH PLACE

NEPTUNE

[Image: Neptune_-_Voyager_2_%2829347980845%29_flatten_crop.jpg]

The outermost planet is right in the middle with six votes. He's my favorite planet. Really, he's so cool he's the coolest. With violent winds that go supersonic at times and an orbit so big you'll never watch him complete one lap around the Sun, what's not there to love about the outermost planet? I'll settle for the middle.

FOURTH PLACE

NICE TRY BUT NO

[Image: crop_p_color2_enhanced_release_small-2.png]

Seven votes for a tiny guy who's not even a planet. Come on. I expected more from you. You wanted him to be the highest of the seven-vote planets, but since it's not a planet, he goes in last place among them. He doesn't even get a medal on the podium for not being a planet. Shame on you. Go tell your mother what you did. She'll know how to punish you. The podium is for real planets. The bronze medal will go to a real planet, not some planet lookalike.

THIRD PLACE

URANUS

Bland, boring planet. You just voted Uranus because of the name, didn't you? His most interesting quality is his unusual sideways spin. But other than that, he's as plain as watching paint dry. Snore. Nothing to see here. Guess how many votes Uranus got?

SECOND PLACE

JUPITER

[Image: Jupiter%2C_image_taken_by_NASA%27s_Hubbl...Edited.jpg]

A giant, impressive guy. Jupiter impresses in many ways, making his second place spot clear. With only seven votes, Jupiter has managed to impress a large portion of the SHL population. Maybe it's his intimidating size. Maybe it's his red spot. Maybe it's his intense magnetic field. Maybe it's something else. Jupiter: first in size, second on the podium.

FIRST PLACE

EARTH

With twelve votes, the largest number of all of the planets, Earth is clearly the crowd favorite. Home, sweet home. It's where we can play hockey without risking death. Maybe human bias has caused Earth as the favorite. I claim the poll was rigged! Get the Neptunians to vote Neptune to first place! Come on, Neptunians! Vote!

This list is fake. America is clearly number 1

I contend to argue that Pluto is indeed classified as a planet.  Albeit a Dwarf Planet, it is still considered a planet.

Per the source at NASA located here https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/planets/dwa.../overview/

Poll clearly shows Uranus is second best planet after Earth. Earth is disqualified. That means Uranus is the best. Towel

I defer to the International Asstronomical Union's definition of a planet:

"A planet is a celestial body that ( a ) is in orbit around the Sun, ( b ) has sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a hydrostatic equilibrium (nearly round) shape, and ( c ) has cleared the neighbourhood around its orbit."

Pluto fails criterion ( c ) as it orbits within the Kuiper Belt.
