Following observations and testing with strategies implemented early on in S55 games, HO feels it necessary to address these strategies that play to take advantage of the design of FHM 6 rather than to hockey strategy.
FHM has several player roles that provide a special effect on the opposing team. These effects individually are not normally a big impact, but it was determined that a team using multiples of these player roles for most players on a team gave a big advantage to that team.
In the FHM 6 manual, the special effect roles are described as follows:
Goons and Enforcers will reduce opponent's bravery, unless countered by presence of the opponent's goons and/or enforcers.
Agitators will lower the Temperament attribute of opponents, leading them to take more penalties.
Crease-clearing Defencemen will lower the screening abilities of opposing forwards.
Shadows will reduce the ability of the opposing line's best player to get into scoring position and make plays
We believe this took away from the spirit of the game as the SHL plays it. We would like users who are building their players to be snipers, playmakers, two way forwards, offensive defencemen, etc., to be able to play in the roles they were hoping to play. We feel that these special effect roles being used across entire teams take away from that diversity. Additionally, stacking entire teams full of these types of players more or less reduced an entire team's TPE for that game.
Effective immediately, the following lineup rules apply to all SHL teams:
Teams are limited to a maximum of 1 Enforcer or Goon in their lineup.
Teams are limited to a maximum of 1 Agitator in their lineup.
Teams are limited to a maximum of 1 Crease-clearing Defencemen in their lineup.
Teams are limited to a maximum of 1 Shadow in their lineup.
