Today we are going to talk about a few rookies that are on the Anchorage Armada. These players are two of the even Petrov Brothers and they are Vladmir Petrov and Slava Petrov. Both have played this whole season on the third line together and have put in a lot of work together, and with the Anchorage Armada to become the best that they can be while still keeping up with their family that is split among the league. It has been a long road for these two brothers, as they have assisted Anchorage, albeit minorly assisted, but assisted none the less, to First Place in the Western Division.
While we have a lot of Petrovs spread throughout the league, the two most important ones are clearly Vladmir and Slava. They were the first two to come across the ocean to the United States and they have no plan of slowing down either. They were also the two highest drafted Petrovs, with Vladmir going at 10th to the Armada and then Slava going 16th to also the Armada. But we aren’t here to break down where they were drafted, or why they are the better brothers, we are here to break down their stats to prove why these two are the best of the best when it comes to the Petrov brothers, and why we can’t wait to see them move further up in the lines in the coming seasons. Slava Petrov is the first one we will talk about stat wise. Slava Petrov played Left Wing on the Third Line for the Anchorage Armada throughout the season. On the Third Line, he averaged only 11:15 minutes a game, yet still came away with 18 points. He had 4 goals, and 14 assists while playing on the third line. That’s staggering that he was able to put up 18 points, tied for the Petrov leader, while only playing 11:15 minutes a game. That is something that you would have to just take a seat back and think about what Slava was able to do with the little time he was given. On top of that his +/- was 8. Which was also tied for the highest among the Petrovs. He also recorded no penalty minutes, the only Petrov to do that as well. He had 66 shots on goal, which equated to a 6.06 shot % with 22 hits. Slava did it all for the Anchorage Armada and we can not wait to see him in a bigger role next season. Vladmir Petrov is the next Petrov to discuss with the Anchorage Armada. Vladmir was tied with his brother, Slava, for most points among the Seven Brothers. On top of that, he had 8 Goals, and 10 assists, which led Vladmir to be the highest scorer out of all of them. Vladmir also was scoring in the Power Play, bringing in One Powerplay Goal and 3 Powerplay assists. He also had a 9.76 shooting % which is third best for all of the Petrovs. Vladmir also brought the pain to opposing teams, laying out 49 hits, which was second most out of the Petrov Clan. Overall, It looks like, clearly, in the first season that the Anchorage Armada got the best of the Petrovs who will continue to dominate the ice for a long time.
