It goes to the Wolfpack player who most exceeded expectations as voted on by the team management. You can find more information about these players and their legacy here. The voting process happened completely internal to the Wolfpack. Where, as mentioned in the award descriptions above, every player associated with New England was eligible to cast their votes. Including all prospects and rostered players. The process allowed each voter to cast two votes per award. They would select their first pick, and then their second pick for each. Where any first pick received 2 points, and any second pick received 1 point. After all votes were cast. I dove into the ballot box and counted the votes. The outcome of which you will be reading about below. Let's get started!
Our first award tonight is the offensive achievement award. The Patrikov Bure! As a reminder, here is the award description: This trophy is awarded in honor of Patrikov Bure who leads the franchise in goals and points. It goes to the Wolfpack player with the biggest offensive contribution of the season as voted on by their peers. The votes we received showed just how big of an impact our 1st line forwards had this season. With all three of them spearheading the team in points. They also combined for the top-3 most votes for the Patrikov Bure award! Our finalists are... C, Slap McShotty @bbjygm W, Jakub Bruchevski @JaytheGreat W, Ethan Price @Zomp While all finalists deserve recognition for their offensive contributions. There can only be one. The winner is... Our second award is the defensive achievement award. The Mia Landvik! This trophy is awarded in honor of Mia Landvik who was a long term captain and defensive goddess. It goes to the Wolfpack player with the biggest defensive contribution of the season as voted on by their peers. We had standout contributions from everyone on the team this season. Not only from the defense and goalie squads. And this is shown in the votes this season as we have a forward among the finalists! The race was really close as the votes were counted. Our final 3 are… C, Slap McShotty @bbjygm D, Dominic Montgomery @bilbo D, Sven Yxskaft @kenvald These three players were all vital to helping prevent our opponents from getting into position and taking shots. Be it preventing passes, winning the puck during board battles, and sacrificing the body. Our Mia Landvik winner is… Our next award is the first award that takes off-ice contributions into account. The Nathan Russell! This trophy is awarded in honor of Nathan Russell who captained the team to three Challenge Cups in the early S30s. It goes to the Wolfpack player who best exemplifies leadership on and off the ice as voted on by their peers. We have so many amazing personalities in our locker room. And it showed during voting as well. A lot of users received votes for this award. But in the end we saw a top-3. And here they are… W, Ethan Price @Zomp D, Sven Yxskaft @kenvald G, Frans Eller @Ace These three are definitely among the loudest users we have. In a good way! All willing to help out a fellow teammate. They bring optimism and resolve to our team. Our leadership award winner is… On to our last player-voted award. The Sasha Dangelchek! This trophy is awarded in honor and memory of the late Sasha Dangelchek who passed away in 9/9/2020. It goes to the Wolfpack player who best exemplifies camaraderie, friendship and sportsmanship as voted on by their peers. It is also one of two awards that our prospects are eligible to win. This award holds a special place in our hearts as we remember Dangel #AD26 I was very happy to see just how tight this award voting turned out to be. So many users in New England deserve it. We strive to be a team for and by everyone. And this shows that we have many users willing to have a friendly chat, and provide support and advice when needed. As the result of the votes were so close this award will have 4 finalists, instead of 3. Our top-4 are... W, (Clean) Andrei Kostitsyn @Clean Andrei Kostitsyn W, Ethan Price @Zomp G, Frans Eller @Ace P, Alexander Oscarsson @Zema These 4 have all shown the same spirit as Dangel did. We are all extremely lucky to have them on our team. Unfortunately we can’t award all of them. But I hope they take pride in being voted as finalists by their peers. Our Sasha Dangelchek award winner is… And now for our final award of the ceremony. The Jasper Clayton! This Trophy is awarded in honor of Jasper Clayton who is the franchise leader in assists and who was the GM from S30-S40. It goes to the Wolfpack player who most exceeded expectations as voted on by the team management. This is the second award where prospects are eligible to win. It is also the only award where the New England management team are the only ones to cast votes. Both veterans and newcomers made a strong case for this award. We saw a lot of users tied for 2nd and 3rd as management had trouble picking from the many options we had. Our finalists are… C, Stan Hanson @LairdButler W, Jakub Bruchevski @JaytheGreat W, Guðmundur Kristjánsson @Fluw W, Ethan Price @Zomp D, James LeBlond @eMLBCommish G, Leo Bloomfield @BloomeyGB Management were encouraged to submit motivations with their award nominations. Here is the combined motivation for this award’s winner: In the same way no one expects the Spanish Inquisition. No one expected this player to have this kind of season. We knew they would produce well, but what this player did was above and beyond. This player was slotted in with two veterans. And repaid us greatly in the trust we put in them. Add in a fantastic overall effort and a strong 103 shots blocked and it makes this player the player that most exceeded expectations! Our winner is... ![]() Past Players ![]() ACP Access S13, S15, S16, S25 Challenge Cup Champion ![]() Registered Posting Freak ![]() Registered Certified Swiss Cheese ![]() Registered Senior Member ![]() SHL GM Chief Chicken Officer |
