S58 mPT #3 What Does SHL Stand For?
#1

Oh no! Your partner/boss/parents just heard you talking about the SHL. Clearly there's no way to tell them the truth, that you spend your free time pretending to be a hockey player on an online forum. Quick! What do you tell them SHL stands for (and what do you do there) to avoid being dumped/fired/shipped off to military school?
25 words minimum!
You will receive 1 TPE for fulfilling all requirements; several users who go above and beyond will be selected as participation+ members and receive an additional 1 TPE.
This PT will close Sunday, February 28th at 11:59pm ET.
If you have any questions/concerns, please PM me. Tasks with malicious intent will not be graded.

This PT is for SHL players and send downs only; it is not for SMJHL Rookies.

If my coworker, supervisor, or manager manages to somehow miss the VERY clear "Simulation Hockey League" at the top of the screen or all of the countless sigs with hockey players, I think I'd have to tell them that the SHL stands for "Safe Highways Legacy." Working at the transportation division of a company, only have been working there for 2 months, definitely gotta make sure people aren't catching me slacking and checking out the SHL every so often and tuning into livestreams. Therefore, the reasoning of checking out a safe highways forum would most likely get me out of the clear as I am relatively new to the transportation section and have lots to learn. The Safe Highways Legacy can be a forum for me to lookup inquiries regarding anything transportation related whether it be and Acts or Bylaws that the company has to follow by.

As for my parents, the SHL will have to be the "School Historical Library". A space for me to do forum research regarding a number of topics and I just so happen to find myself researching a physics question involving hockey slapshots. That would probably throw them off well enough considering the large amounts of text on the SHL... and the large number of hockey sigs on the site. It's not like it's out of the ordinary for a physics questions to have a word problem involving the odd use of topics, so this case it's gonna be hockey!

Bold of you to assume I have the sense of shame to lie about it.

If I was to come up with something, though, it'd be Simon's Holy Library, a forum resource that teaches about everything from making better Excel spreadsheets to writing better statistical analysis to making Photoshop art. The nice thing is, I've learned more about all three of those things in the year and few months that I've been in the SHL. Sure the title is a lie and everything is an exaggeration, but the best lies have a little bit of truth.

Ah yes, I am just studying this new field, uh Synthetic Human Livers. It will be groundbreaking research for alcoholics. Which is what SHL is driving me to become.

ah, but the truth will set you free. It also has a chance to net you TPE. I generally let people know what the simulation hockey league is. I start off by telling them that the SHL is a simulation hockey league that stands for acceptance. It has become a neat community that provides an outlet to write as well as provide team comradery that is different from my normal life. I don't usually write so this gives me a chance to do something different. However if I were to be hiding the SHL and call it something different with the SHL acronym. I would all it Swanky Hulky Lads.

Well mom, SHL stands for Stunningly Hot Ladies. It’s a website where I view pictures of hot ladies. It’s totally legal and totally cool. Now get out of my room.

Saville and Holdsworth Limited (SHL) is an international company that designs personality, behavioural and ability tests. I'm studying for this test that I need to take to make it onto the New England Wolf Pack, which is my beer league hockey team.

My Wife already knows all about this and calls it "Fake Hockey" and knows that every Friday/Saturday I have to go and do my "Fake Job" of Updating, but if I were to cover for myself at work or with other friends, I would have to go with this being Spanish Housing Lookup.  I would go into detail about how my wife and I are looking to pack everything up and head to Spain to live out our lives as Western Europeans.

Honestly, when my fiancee asks what I am doing, I tell them I am doing fantasy sports. It's way too long to explain, so I keep it as simple as possible to not seem like a nerd. It was tough to explain @OrbitingDeath to her.

SHL actually stands for the Swedish Hockey League mom, and I'm going to become a scout and move there. Don't crush my dreams and ship me off to boarding school please.

SHL stands for Software Help Lifeline, where I go for 3-4 hours a day at work because I'm shitty at coding and can't build anything without tons of help. That's why my boss puts up with 90% of my browser history being SHL.

first of all it is bold of you to assume that I am not such a shameless nerd that I have already told every single person in my life who will listen about my fake hockey player and his exciting life. but for a moment we will pretend that I am much cooler than I am and am pretending that I don't have a fake hockey player - I tell them that SHL stands for Serious Heavenly Lifestyle and it's a site I'm going to for my religious spiritual well-being. They will be glad I'm going to church, even if it's fake online church. They will never bother me again about my worldly ways or judge me for my "lifestyle choices."
