Lived up to their expeectations, was better or under-performed? [THAT X2 PAY MEDIA]
#1

Another regular season is in the books, so before we actually jump in to serious games, I'm going to make a media about how each team performed this season. Did they played better than I individually thought they will? Or maybe worse? Let's take a look at it. Before that, I want to say that this is only my subjective opinion which is here only because of double pay out we have this week.

Let's start with a bit weaker conference - Western.

1. Texas Renegades - Renegades
I think that everyone knew from the beginning that Renegades will dominate this conference. 12 more points than second place and this is pretty obvious outcome. They're the most dominant team in Western and scored/allowed goal difference just proves my point. I would say that they lived up to their expectations because no one really waited for less than first place in conference from Renegades.

2. Calgary Dragons - Dragons
I knew Dragons will be solid, but I think they did a bit better than everyone expected. Or at least I expected. Definitely did good in this regular season and a bit better than I thought.

3. Seattle Argonauts - Argonauts
Not my favourite team of this league, but you gotta give props where they are deserved. Same amount of points with Argonouts and definitely a team which was predicted at third or fourth place in this conference in regular season.

4. Edmonton Blizzard - Blizzard
Maybe I'm just nostalgic, but I thought Edmonton will be in TOP 3 in Western. Maybe that's just because my previous player played for them and I just liked them, but whatever. Still solid. Almost third if we look at total points. Went 7-0 in pre-season, so this spot should've been higher. But they are in second round in Play-Offs already, so everything's good for them.

5. Los Angeles Panthers - Panthers
Team slowly getting back at the top and fifth place is definitely a place where I saw them before this season. Not good, not bad, but pretty predictable. Their season has ended since they lost 2-4 in Play-Offs series versus Edmonton in first round though.

6. Minnesota Monarchs - Monarchs
A bit too low in my opinion. They could've performed much better and at least be in TOP 4 in my opinion. They are decent, but ended up at the middle of the standings. Even a bit at the bottom, to be fair.

7. San Francisco Pride - pride
This team is slowly getting back aswell. They had some hard times, but they did what's in their power this season. Saw them finishing in this position. Lost in first round versus Argonauts 2-4 in Play-Offs. Season has ended. Fought hard even being only seventh seed. Respect!

8. Winnipeg Aurora - Aurora
Aurora is a great time and I like it, but I never thought they will be that low. Well, it was close in total points race between Pride, Monarchs and Aurora, but Aurora just turned out the most unluckiest and ended up being eighth seed. Ouch!

9. New Orleans Specters - Specters
Worst team this season in this league. It was easily predictable, but at the same time it feels a bit weird, because just few seasons ago they won a championship title. Now they're 17 points behind second worst team in this league. Another ouchie!

Long story short about Western: I think it looks almost as I saw it before this season. Some upsets and surprises, of course, but not that much. Solid in general. Now it's time for Eastern which always has a big fight for higher spots in standings.

1. Hamilton Steelhawks - Steelhawks
Well, Steelhawks have always been a threat in regular season and not only. Obvious that they won Eastern and whole league this regular season. It was pretty dominant. They lost only 10 games this season, one of it in overtime. Hard to admit since I play for Buffalo Stampede, but this is insane.

2. Buffalo Stampede - Stampede
Here we are. Buffalo! Well deserved and I knew we will be second or third place in regular season in our conference. Don't have much to say. Just happy to see us still up there!

3. Chicago Syndicate - syndicate
I think that Syndicate is pretty obvious outcome in this situation aswell, because they had a championship title few seasons ago. It was just a question will they be second, third or fourth in this conference.

4. Toronto North Stars - Stars
They lived up to their expectations aswell. TOP 4 of Eastern was pretty predictable. It was just interesting to see how it will turn out, because we knew which teams will be in it. Team after this TOP 4 is Inferno which has 37 points less than Toronto. This just shows how dominant is big TOP 4 of Eastern.

5. Atlanta Inferno - Inferno
Just told how they performed. I guess, it's decent, right? Pretty good since they joined this league recently and they are kinda new team. Higher than Baltimore, Tampa Bay, New England and Manhattan in Eastern. Got more points than Winnipeg and New Orleans too. Pretty decent! In pre-season they went 7-0, so I thought they might be higher, but this is still solid.

6. Baltimore Platoon - Platoon
I guess they started to go down after they went from Kendall to Baltimore. However, they're not the same since then and I knew they will be somewhere in the middle this regular season in their conference. It was kinda close between them and Tampa Bay and New England. Really close. They had 50 points. Lost 1-4 in Play-Offs versus Syndicate, so season has ended for them. Still solid.

7. Tampa Bay Barracuda - Barracuda
They had 48 points. Two more points and situation would be different. Barracuda are still struggling, but I guess this is better than 0-50 season they had. They're still at the bottom and it was predictable, but will see how it will change next season. They're already out of Play-Offs aswell. Feels kinda cool, because they didn't pick me in the draft and we beat them in first round with gentleman sweep, haha.

8. New England Wolfpack - Wolfpack
Here it is. Wolfpack has came a long way down standings too. Bottom of Eastern and only one point made them lucky to not finish in last position in Eastern. I guess, it was predictable, right? At the same time - they could've played better.

9. Manhattan Rage - Rage
Unexpected for me. They went 3-3-1 in pre-season and I thought they will be just in the middle this season. I was wrong. Last position in Eastern. However, we have to look at bigger picture, because yes - they are nineth position in Eastern, but they're just point behind Wolfpack, two points behind Barracuda and four points behind Platoon. Still underperformed, I think.

About Eastern long story short: hard conference and all teams were pretty close. It just shows in statistics. Seems like there will be interesting matchups not only this season, but for a long time in the future aswell. Interesting!

That's it for this media. Thanks for everyone who have red this far. Good luck to everyone in Play-Offs and IIHF and a reminder that this is only my opinion who was made just because of double pay out existence. Good luck and stay safe y'll!
