It's been a tumultuous two months at best for the SHL, with the direction of the site somewhat undetermined at this point. There have been several, and I mean SEVERAL, controversial suspensions, fines, bannings, etc. You name it, the last two months on the forums have pretty much seen it all. Much to the dismay of "general population", HO has decided to plow forward with their moves, almost without regard to any and everyone around them. With that being said, the question has come and gone in recent memory of... what exactly constitutes a suspension nowadays?

With those at the helm throwing around suspensions like a live Oprah taping, it almost feels like the remainder of the forums have been walking on virtual eggshells. What's going to be the next rule? Can I even post my opinion without fear of reprisal? Will HO threaten / blackmail me? I think I speak for everyone when I say enough is enough. Let's really get down to the brass tax here... if HO can't figure it out, we will.

I've been bouncing around some ideas for an article for the past couple of days and decided... you know what? Let's try to figure out what people are going to be suspended for next. We've recently had (and still do) have suspensions served for the use of certain words, spamming the down-rep ability, and posting trade block information (this one even spawned the creation of a new rule, go figure). So, let's get into some future reasons why members might be facing suspensions, and hopefully to avoid these situations altogether:

1. Cunt
When you approach the rulebook, it's almost incredible you don't find a topic covering this word at all. It's exceptionally cringe worthy, even more so in real life of course, but the forums shouldn't tolerate the use of this word at all IMO. It's a violent word, it even SOUNDS mean coming off the tongue, so I truly believe it's only a matter of time until this part of the woman anatomy becomes blacklisted. All it takes is one use against a specific member that isn't flame retardant.

2. False TPE Allocation
To bring it back towards the hockey-related side of the house, TPE allocation has been a monster to handle for updaters; always has been, always will be. With the current audit happening, I believe the noses of HO will perk up slightly to try & find those squeaking in those extra teps where they shouldn't be. Albeit, STHS has proven to make almost no sense in any manner based on builds and especially stacked teams, I still think this could very well become a dark path for the suspension-destined.

3. Thunderdome Interpretation: Part 3692936
This has already happened, but I do want to expand on this a little bit. Before I rant for 2 minutes, I want everyone to look at Spangle's post at the very top of the Thunderdome… here's the link. It talks about not crossing the line... If HO has any sense about them, they would make a clear and definitive example as to what the line actually is, because it seems the Thunderdome has become a hunting ground for suspension happy HO members. It's like we can't even use it anymore, regardless if we're become flame retardant or not.

4. Sexism
After reading through the rules, or briefly browsing through them the first time in my class, it seems like the entire party surrounds it but doesn't seem to touch on it... sexism. Now it's hard to practice the ancient art of sexism here, but I DO think that down the line somehow, someway, there will be a reason to suspend a member for sexist remarks. You could probably refer to #1 for the fast track towards this route, but you could also see female-oriented attacks in PM being used as ammo to throw the book at someone.

5. Foreign foul words
Que? Well it seems like we're heading down this path, sadly. Since the foulest of words are banned entirely from use on the site, it's only a matter of time until someone figures out how to say "*****" or "retard" in a foreign language. Luckily enough, there's google translate so we can always figure out if someone IS saying something volatile, and you can believe that HO will be very quick to act.

6. Arguing with HO
We're going to sum this up with, what I believe, is the most realistic of all situations. This might seem far-fetched to some, but I think it was started just a few short weeks ago. There was a thread where a lot of kickback was being received for a punishment (imagine that...) and the thread was ACTUALLY LOCKED. Yes, HO put their virtual fingers in their virtual ears and went LALALALALALALALA as loud as they could. Eventually, it was re-opened but then was closed AGAIN. This happened again with another separate thread, can't find it. This, IMHO, is the start of not being to retort to HO whatsoever.

I honestly don't understand some nations/people's aversion to this word. In most of the civilized world, it's on par with "fuck" or "shit". We'll be going down the route the PBE took if we start banning individual words for no real reason.
