The nightmare that is the S61 Esa Anrikkanen Trophy

I don't know if anyone has noticed this but the Esa Anrikkanen award for best rookie seems like it's going to be an absolute nightmare to decide on.

So the two leaders in points are Oskar Von Walther  and  Akashi SixNine Jr who both have exactly  forty points. Oskar has eighteen goals and twenty-two assist, Akashi has sixteen goals and twenty-four assists.  That's not the only problem you'd have picking between them as they both play on the same team as well

Depending on how you feel about plus-minus, Walther is only a minus twenty  while Akashi is a minus twenty four. These two are not the only problem however because Jaeger Jones has fourteen goals and twenty-five assists for thirty-nine points so he's only one point behind the top pair. He also only has  a minus seventeen but he is on the Regina Elk who were  a much better team then the Detroit Falcons were this season  and plus-minus is a pretty unreliable stat when it comes to player assessment  in professional hockey

Jones also had the same exact game rating as Akashi Sixnine with a sixty-one. So I have no idea how to separate those two. Walther seems like the longshot in this award race. For what it's worth Sixnine has two minutes and twelve seconds of average power play time compared to a paltry fifty seconds for Jones so that might tip some votes in Nine's favor.

Lots of deserving candidates for ROY. two rookie goalies in the top 5 for wins, and guys like Aittokallio, Jammin and Kinsinger, it will be a tough decision for sure!

Good list, I think those two are the top contenders among forwards, but Cup Noodle is a really strong choice as well looking at defense (Ben Jammin is stinky so not him), and I think there's an argument for any of the rookie goalies, but a special shoutout there to Skrolk tied among rookies in wins with a very good .913 save %

What about the Rookie D who was top 5 among all defensemen in Goals, Shots, and PPG
or @"vulfgravy" - Cup Noodle who had an unreal point producing season on the back end for ANC?

This year has produced plenty of quality Rookie Candidates

Maybe a homer pick but I'm going to have to go with my two teammates Cup Noodle and Dom Tretyak. Both were huge impactful players for Armada and helped turn around our season.

I'm going to throw Shoyo Hinata's name out there. 16g 13a 29pts on a rookie 3rd/4th line most of the season. He averaged 10:06 TIO compared to the 20+ minutes they both got. Put Hinata on a team where he wasn't buried and it's an easy pick for ROTY.

Can confirm, Hinata posted a 2.6 P/60 against the other two, with below 2 P/60. TOI and total play time should be considered too.
