A once promising young star, Sean Stevenson III took a turn for the worst at the end of season 60. The once highly touted prospect and arguably top 10 developer in his draft class Sean was looking to make a mark in his draft season. One scout was quoted that Sean had top 10 pick potential right up until he just vanished without a word. He wasn't showing up to practice, he wasn't making his presence felt in the locker room anymore and some had even wondered if he had died. Sean had cut all contact with scouts and GM's and he just seemed like his heart wasn't in it anymore. The draft came and Winnipeg was the team that took a shot with Ace being the one to take a shot on Stevenson III much like he had with other Stevenson's in the generational line. But even Ace himself had no clue what was going on with Sean.

Then on the eve of Season 61 Sean made contact. Sean had been hospitalized due to complications with diverticulitus (don't look that up). "I almost died" Sean said, "I didn't know it at the time but it was serious enough that they had to do emergency surgery" Now recovering from his ordeal Sean was ready to get back to work and help the Kelowna Knights get back to the top. Unfortunately the good news wouldn't last long as complications from the surgery landed Stevenson back under the knife. "They came to me and basically said here is the deal, your stoma has died and so we have to go back in an make a new one." This was a huge blow coming after weeks of recovery to now have to go right back to the beginning. "The drugs they had me on, I couldn't focus, I could barely move and they were pushing me to recover faster than my body was ready to go." Sean said about the 2nd surgery. But a longer hospital stay and better luck this time around Sean was able to recover back to almost full health. "I am actually in talks now with my surgeon about a reversal of the ostomy that they performed.

Now with the hard part behind him and a season lost to complications Sean Stevenson III looks to help Kelowna get back to the top of the pile and win a Four Star Cup before possibly moving up to the big leagues next season. We look forward to keeping an eye on his progress and whether his current medical condition will keep him from progressing as he did in his rookie SMJHL season.
