The rookies for the Colorado Raptors put on a straight show during season 64 in the SMJHL.  Right Wing Evan Winter, Center Godwin Lupercal, Right Wing JR Frankenstero, Right Defenseman Binko Koivu, Left Defenseman Brendan York and Left Wing James James all were putting in major work for the team to give Colorado a 35-25-6 record and clinch the 7th spot with 76 points on the season.

Right Wing Evan Winter was a complete force during the season and for much of the year was the top rookie in scoring, up until the final sim.  On the season he finished #2 of all rookies with 47 points, of those he had 19 goals and 28 assists for the team.  Winter also was the 4th overall on the Raptors in total points for the season, and was tied for 3rd for shooting percentage, and in all of that he was on the ice during at the 11th spot on the team, and finished with the 7th best game rating for the team.

Center Godwin Lupercal was right behind Winter as the season ended in rookie scoring, as he ended the season as the #3 overall.  He also had 19 goals on the season, but only knocked in 26 assists giving him 45 points for the year.  Godwin was 5th overall on Colorado and had the 5th most shots on the team, and had the 6th overall game rating for the year.

Right Wing JR Frankenstero didn't make the team out of preseason, but in his 60 games he was able to be ranked tied at #7 out of all of the rookies.  He tallied up 12 goals and 23 assists giving him 35 points.  If he had played all season at that rate he would have ended the year with 39 points and that would have ranked #4 right behind his teammates.  For the year JR was 9th on the team in total points, and he was 10th in total shots and shooting percentage, also he was 9th in total game rating, but for the offensive game rating alone he was 4th on the team.

Right Defenseman Binko Koivu was able to lead the team out of the two defensive rookies scoring 20 points with 4 goals and 16 assists.  Binko had the 3rd most minutes on the ice for the whole year on the team, but he had the 2nd worst defensive game rating on the team in all of those minutes. 

Left Defenseman Brendan York was just behind Koivu racking up 16 points with 5 goals and 11 assists.  York was able to have the 5th highest defensive game rating, but he had the 3rd most giveaways on the team.

Left Wing James James joined the team right at the end of the season and in playing only 17 games scored 2 goals and had 2 assists.  James didn't take a lot of shots on his time on the ice, but he ended up with the highest shooting percentage in his small sample size, he also would have had the 3rd most penalty minutes on the team if he had played a full season with his current numbers.

As you can see the Colorado Raptors had a pretty amazing season from their rookies, giving them 3 of the top 8 scoring rookies in the entire league.  This should mean terrific things for their sophomore season as they all get better and grow more as a team together.
