After having a career year with Edmonton, where Videl scored 44 points and had a career-high in goals and assists, Videl found herself caught in a middle of a transition. At 4 in the morning, she was awoken by her agent giving her the shocking news that Edmonton had traded her to the Toronto North Stars for a future second-round pick. It was the second time in two seasons that she had to pack her stuff and move to a new city, and she had realized that she would become a journeyman and possibly trade bait if she did not prove herself this time around. "I am quite stunned that I find myself on a new roster. It feels like yesterday that Calgary traded me to Edmonton." As it turned out, that was not the only splash Toronto had made this offseason, as Toronto moved three future first-round picks to Texas to acquire High Haschdi, Keith Lee, and Lemo Phil. They previously received Dogwood Maple, Ty Murphy from Hamilton, re-signed Jimmy Larkin-Conway and reunited with their old captain Ryusuke Sato, who also came from Texas.

Despite not leading the team in either points or goals, Videl was also named Edmonton's all-star representative last season. Here are her career stats up until her trade to Toronto.
