Team Latvia - new era or just new problems?

Registered Posting Freak What does hockey mean for Latvia? It is simple, Latvian ice hockey has long been the leading sport in the country, even considering it is a winter sport. Latvians have always supported their team in both beautiful and sad moments. It's this azart that's in our blood that puts a very heavy burden on us in this, virtual environment as well. There is a great desire to lift the Latvian ice hockey team to a higher level. As a first step for all of this, a rebuild of the team's lineup has already begun. Since I've come to lead the team, we've attracted most young talent, which I'm enjoying a lot. But there's the sad side of the story, those player resources aren't enough.
I have the utmost honour to represent and lead this team. As a second perceived success, leaving the final spot in the international rankings. We were able to overtake the Austrian team and I think that's just the beginning. We have a great goalie tandem who will be able to drag the team by the teeth in difficult situations in the future. The soul of the team attack is being restored and it can be seen that the old leaders are still on a very good level too. Will they return to the squad after the end of a player's career? It's a good question for every one of them. I am aware that this may not be due to weak results either, but on the other hand there is an opportunity for a lower level team to stand out more individually. Many will ask – what is the purpose of this article? It's certainly not money, rather an urge, or a call for young players who want to make their debut at IIHF tournaments as soon as possible to consider opportunities to be a bit lower-level in teams because the resource of players is not that impressive for us. I know other teams also have problems with specific player places. The Latvian team currently lacks active and struggling defenders, because the existing defenders are either on the verge of regression or already in it – and how long they will continue their careers is only a matter for themselves. With each season, I try to perfect the inside of the team so that anyone who joins is happy to play alongside others -- already existing players in the team. The core of the team has remained much more active and friendly than it was before. I am also delighted that each of the players in the squad is a pretty big leader in their SHL squad as well. Putting together such masters can create a dangerous unit. So, in general, I would like to say that any young player who has not yet decided in favour of any of the selections is welcome to the Team Latvia, because together we are a force! I hope I'll be interested in someone and this one will create responsiveness.

you’ve done a great job acquiring pieces for the offensive rebuild! Not to mention the new young goaltending duo looks to be promising in a few seasons! With one or two more younger additions on defence the team could be viscous in a few seasons!
