The Texas Renegades are pleased to announce the grand opening of the newest arena in the SHL, just in time for the start of S68. Welcome to...
![]() Affectionately nicknamed The Saloon for its old school wood-first construction, La Salle Arena is an ultra-modern facility in downtown Dallas, built using sustainable lumber. This LEED certified, environmentally friendly design has all the amenities of a 21st century stadium. ![]() From the outside, the deep red stain draws the eye upward to La Salle’s overhanging rafters, which stretch out over the upper bowl windows. Try to keep your eye on the game while the gorgeous Texas sunset and glittering Dallas skyline provide a dynamic background for Renegades hockey! The Saloon styling continues inside, with a fully wooden ceiling stretching out above a double bowl with a max capacity of 18,450 (an homage to Texas's founding in 1850). The floating board construction is complemented by golden accent lighting which highlights the red stain that continues here. Of course, your eye will also be drawn to the 5,000 square feet scoreboard that seamlessly combines more than 40 OLED displays for the highest quality video, including displays on the inside for detailed stats, out of town scores, and more. ![]() Beneath this one of a kind ceiling lies the Robert Cavelier Rink, dedicated to the arena’s namesake: René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle. This 17th-century French explorer canoed the Mississippi River from Illinois to the Gulf of Mexico and was the first to call the river basin La Louisiane. He later established the first French colony right here in Texas and he later died during an expedition down the Brazos River, exploring deep into our beautiful state. Off the rink, La Salle Arena has even more in store for our fans. All of your favorite Dallas-based restaurants fill our concourse, offering you the most delicious meals and snacks before and during every home game: Bennigan’s, Chili’s, Fuddruckers, Maggiano’s, Pizza Hut, TGI Fridays, and Whataburger… they’re all here! But hockey isn’t even the only game in town, not for the Renegades family: the north end of LSA features the world’s largest Dave & Buster’s restaurant arcade! With a separate entrance, this D&B will be a destination all year round. When Texas is at home, come to enjoy your favorite food and games for hours ahead of puck drop. And when they’re on the road, D&B is the place to be to cheer on the Renegades by watching on one of the three massive screens, with game commentary offered in English, Spanish, and French. Everyone is welcome at La Salle Arena and, on behalf of the entire Texas Renegades organization, we can’t wait to see you at the Saloon! *Huge tip of the Stetson to @CapnCooper for Cavelier name/concept, and many thanks to him and @Anthique for letting me run with this.* **Images will be posted separately for graphics grading** ![]() SHL GM SHL GM
Yeahhhhh fantastic job and great creativity! The Renegades are excited to move into the new rink! A rink with a story behind it's name and ice that we all have tested out and plan big things on!
