I know this is late. We've been working up to the minute to get this conclusion.

We've changed a lot on the sim side this season. Most of it's small things, but some of them have been bigger process and scheduling changes. The question that's been looming has been "How do we handle the playoffs?", and this is the best method that we've been able to come to. So, here goes:

The playoffs will be played out on a 6-day schedule from Monday to Saturday for the next 2 weeks. We are going to do 2 games in 1 sim per day. We will sim the odd-number games, and then allow a 20-minute intermission for any changes before the even-number games. Furthermore, at least for Round 1, we’ll be doing odd-numbered games live for the Eastern/Atlantic conferences with quick sims for the Western/Pacific conferences, and even-numbered games live for the Western/Pacific conferences with quick sims for the Eastern/Atlantic conferences. It’s already a long sim before you double it. Depending on how it works for Round 1, we will consider it for Round 2. There will be no quick-simmed games for Rounds 3 and 4. We're still working on finalizing schedules, and those will be posted to Discord when they're ready.

We know this sucks. However, even with aid from SHL HO, we don’t have the staff to stream twice a day. It’s not just the early slots, it’s all of it. Putting it bluntly, there’s 8 time slots across 40 in the 2 weeks that cannot be filled because of personnel unavailability. We also can’t rely on any one or two people to do 4 or more hour-long streams in a week to fill the gaps. I’m hoping that making it fewer, hour-and-a-half long sims will be a little better. At the very least, it lines up with the schedules more. If there were a better way to make this work, we would be doing that. We’re putting up a hiring thread soon. If we can get the availability, we can go back to the normal playoff schedule and this can be a nightmare of the past.
