Hello SMJHL GMs and anyone else who decides to read this! In light of the S71 SMJHL Draft being one week away, I figured I'd walk through my current thoughts on the teams and how I'd feel about Zedward Zilliams being drafted to them.

Quick background: My first player Edward Williams had a successful career with a very short-lived peak as I went IA because I wanted to rebel against regression (but more importantly life happened). I'm a very flexible user who is happy to build my player to best fit the team. I don't think I'm some #1 overall draft pick with the choice of any team -- I just thought I'd shine some light on my views. If you are interested in drafting me for team composition but perhaps are lower on my list, feel free to reach out and we can chat!

S Tier

Falcons

Detroit Falcons Falcons

How can Detroit not be the first team I talk about? I really enjoyed learning about the league back in the S53 Draft Class discord, but it was Detroit that really got me to stick around for so long with Edward Williams. I would still pop into the discord every now and then even when I was IA. Detroit looks like it's remained quite successful, which is definitely a plus.

Timber

Maine Timber Timber

I was thrilled to join the Timber with their Four Star Cup quest as an UDFA, even if it was short-lived. I appreciate the due diligence on their part and have enjoyed the vibes. W

Knights

Kelowna Knights Knights

I didn't know much about Kelowna to be honest, but I've loved my chats and feel this would be a great fit for everyone involved!

A Tier

Kraken

Carolina Kraken Kraken

It's funny having the Kraken so high up because I sorta had a weird rivalry with them back with Edward Williams, but I think that ultimately developed into respect for sve7en more than anything else. Despite the lack of contact as of yet, I trust my player would thrive under the tank top GM.

Great Fall Grizzlies

I think this is a new team or expansion team but I think it's a cool brand and I recall that I like Gibbles.

B Tier

Newfoundland Berserkers

Don't have too much of an opinion on the Berserkers but shoutout Patty - S53 Draft Class is everywhere!

Quebec City Citadelles

Yet again, the S53 Draft Class produced many (too many??) GMs in and now they've taken over a newer team in Quebec City under Faelax.

Yukon Malamutes

I appreciate the contact and we have another new brand here in Yukon. Too bad it isn't UConn instead of Yukon because I'd be all over the Huskies (we love winning titles).

C Tier

St. Louis Scarecrows

I remember SparkyDee from my Detroit days. I trust the team and my player would do well together. That being said, I don't know if I could disrespect my Detroit Falcons...

Whalers

Vancouver Whalers Whalers

RESPECT to the Hartford Whalers. The logo designer Peter Good passed away this month. RIP.

Elk

Okay this is definitely a newer team. I actually LOVE the branding a ton. Very very very cool. I just don't know anything about you!!

Battleborn

I honestly can't remember if this team existed when I played. Yes? Maybe? I don't know.

Raptors

Another team that just finds its way down at the bottom simply out of lack of knowledge on my part. Cool branding but I don't like the Toronto Raptors and you share the same name.

Armada

Anchorage Armada Armada

Honestly I think Anchorage might actually be lucky not to be on its own in D Tier. I just... don't have a strong opinion on them. Sorry!
