To Blizzard
4th overall
36th overall

To Rage
13th overall
16th overall

I accept, I have a plan for my first 3 picks now which are 2,4, and 5. I still have a 2nd rounder at 15th overall, so I still can get a pretty good player down there as well. Thanks for quick and easy negotiations Jason Cheers

There was a specific guy I had been targeting prior to the lottery, and I really wanted to get him, but after having lost the lottery I wasn't able to make much headway with Jesster to deal up, and my guy won't be there at 4. Since after 1 and 2 there are a good number of players that are all about equal, this deal allows us to get an additional one of those than we would have at 4, while improving the 36 pick drastically. To me, 4 was just about the worst spot to be in- you'd get an equal talent anywhere from 3 to about 18, so why keep one so early, when I could do something like this and get an extra one?

I think in a draft like this, it is a fair deal. The guys I want at 4 and 5 though, I know will simply not make it past the end of round one, so I felt this was a good move to make.

Edmonton continues to insist on torturing top prospects by drafting them.
