Sweden WJC history Sweden

WJC Season 53

We are going all the way back to S53 when the WJC just started recording stats and Sweden finished 2nd in their group with 6 wins 5 losses and 1 ot loss in the knockout rounds the managed to get through Team Dach winning 5-3 a great win pushing them to round two where they beat the US Team 2-1 this game was a lot closer but sweden still managed to push through. Going to the Gold medal game where the faced canada who just ended UCORCAL’s hopes at getting the gold medal and sweden was next on the target list but swden fought hard but was no match for the The Canadian Team who Beat Team Sweden 3-2.

WJC Season 54

This WJC the swedes did not have such a good time in the group stages getting 3rd place in group A and once they got to the Knockout rounds it wasn’t much better when the United States Team knocked them out in the first round a bounce back is needed

WJC Season 55

This year sweden didn’t improve that much in the group stage staying at 3rd but this time in group B where they had 4 wins in 12 games but In the knockout stage they managed to get to the second round where they lost to team canada who went on to Get the silver medal. This WJC was a step up from S54 but way worse then S53.

WJC season 56

Another WJC and another step up getting 2nd place in Group B being 1 win away from 1st place but Sweden cant seem to get past North american teams loseing to team Canada again another letdown in the knockout stages.

WJC season 57

This WJC Sweden went back down to 3rd place with Finand and Team Canada White finishing above them and in the knockouts they managed to beat a Team canada red breaking the curse of Loseing to north american teams and then in round 2 they beat Team canada white and this was looking like swedens year but Finland had other planes beating them 10-2, Sweden still happy they won Silver they knew they would try and come back for more as they didn’t want a 10-2 Loss to stay in they memory for long.

WJC Season 58

This time Sweden had a way better Group stage getting 2nd place with finland having 1 more win then them. Once the knockout rounds started sweden beat the US team and then ran into finland in round 2 and coulnt beat them finland went on to win gold so it was understandable but that’s not a excuse.

WJC Season 59

This year Sweden got 2nd place in group B again but only lost by Goal differential to Team World and they were un defeated at home. In the knockout round they beat UCORCAL in round one but lost to DACH in round two but DACH Went on to win gold, this is starting to be repeative of sweden loseing to the gold medal team in the 2nd round

WJC Season 60

Sweden finally managed to get first place in the group stage the team was hot and only had 2 losses and in the knockout stages they came out hot beating Team North America 5-4 in round one and the team's confidence soared and in round two they beat ucorcal 5-4 in OT so off to the gold medal game they go for the first time in 3 years but ended up losing 4-0 to Team British Isles.

WJC Season 61

For the first time in quite a few year Sweden will be in group A and maybe that was a good thing they got 1st place and in the knockout rounds they beat the team that ended their run last year and then in round two UCORCAL tried to put up a fight but ended up loseing so for the 2nd year in a row they were in the goal medal game vs the team that nearly beat them in the group stage USA and they couldn’t get gold no matter how hard they tried and team USA beat them 3-1 for another silver medal.

WJC Season 62

After getting to the finals in back to back years they fell off super hard getting last in their division and not qualifying for the knockout rounds

WJC Season 63

After a incredibly disapointing year last year they managed to get 2nd place in group A Loseing to canada but at least they made the made the knockout round and managed to beat team USA in the first round but lost to Canada in round 2.

WJC Season 64

This Season Sweden had a fairly meh year getting 3rd in group B and didn’t get very far in the knockout round loseing in the first round I don’t know what else to say its just meh.

WJC Season 65

Back to Group B and this year they got 2nd place and did way better in the knockout round this year making it to the 2nd round before losing to DACH who went on to win gold.

WJC Season 66

Back to mediocrity getting 4th place in group A and losing in round one to Canada this year was very demoralizing, but they will hopefully just get better from here

WJC Season 67-69

These years sucked with Sweden only making it to the knockout stages once and ended up losing in round 1 to DACH.

WJC Season 70

This Season Sweden managed to make the knockout rounds and that must have set the team off because they beat Team USA in round 1 Team ICE in round 2 and then lost to team British Isles in the gold medal game sadly the team never won gold but maybe next season things go better but we hope it doesn’t get worse.

With all that being said Go Sweden and we need more gold
