It honestly is less hard to explain than you think, because for me the fact that its hockey isn't really as important. The community, and being part of a team is the really valuable part to this league for me and what keeps me engaged.

What keeps me coming back is the ability to create a player and grow/perform as a part of a team.  I feel like everyone enjoys playing career mode in sports games on their own, but it is very cool to see it simulated and play out with other people in real life.

It's the people you meet. The pleasure of building something. It's the excitement of the playoffs. It's the draft process... but I would not try to make them understand.

I joined this leave on a whim because of my love for hockey, while the sim hocky is great, the community and team locker room is what truly makes this a great place and thing to be a part of.

The people really help the league a lot and you do not need hockey to do well or know what is going on. While watching or participating you do not need to know much in order to enjoy.

at this point i honestly have no idea why i keep coming back. i'd probably say the lrs i'm in; they help keep me going because at this point the shl isn't one of my priorities like it used to be.
