Welcome back to another glorious award show.
The S73 World Junior Championship was a very competitive tournament with only a few hiccups. A win in my books! Congratulations to Team USA on winning yet another gold medal, beating Rhine in a thrilling final. Finland won the bronze medal, winning their third place game against Canada Now, onto the awards, which were voted on by participants of the tournament. DeMaricus Smyth Award This award goes to the best forward of the tournament. S72's winner was Timo Lambert . The nominees for this year are: Trevor Lahey @DigDoug11 Rowan O'Beirne @Caleb Sunrise van de Schubbekutteveen @Thunfish And the winner is Sunrise van de Schubbekutteveen! Harvey Danger Award The Harvey Danger Award is given to the best defenseman of the tournament. S72's winner was Sydney Shaw . The nominees for this year are: Billy Hill @PapaSorin Johnny Shuffleboard @mee Bob Wehadababyitsaboy @Inf1d3l And the winner is Johnny Shuffleboard! Peter Larson Award The Peter Larson Award is given to the best goaltender of the tournament. Scary Jerry won the award in S72. This year's top three nominees are: Olafur Gunnleifsson @JartY Scary Jerry @Durden Just Perfection @RealDealer And the winner is Scary Jerry for his back-to-back win! Alex Andani Award The Alex Andani Award is given to the best rookie, or first timer, of the tournament. Yves D'Odeur won the award in S72. The top three nominees for this year are: Olafur Gunnleifsson @JartY Froya Solberg @NaomiMannequeen - ICE Sonja Solberg @Tsunny - ICE And the winner is Froya Solberg! Brady McIntyre Award The Brady McIntyre Award is the most prestigious: it is the award for tournament MVP. S72's winner was Timo Lambert . The top three nominees for this year are: Scary Jerry @Durden Johnny Shuffleboard @mee Sunrise van de Schubbekutteveen @Thunfish And Sunrise van de Schubbekutteveen is the big winner this season! Spotlight Award I would like to award @_Blitz_ the lifetime achievement Spotlight Award and retire the award for the time being. Gunnar Söderberg Award I would like to introduce a new award for S73. The Gunnar Söderberg Award, named after @sköldpaddor, will be awarded to the tournament's Top General Manager. Somebody who went above and beyond for the tournament. This year's nominees: @eddiesnothere & @CloudRobot @NaomiMannequeen & @ThisSeemsFishy - ICE @jbay07 Congratulations to @eddiesnothere & @CloudRobot on the gold medal win, and the award! Thank you to everybody who participated as either a GM or a player through this tournament. Work has already started on making the S74 tournament even better!
