Hello! Today we will be taking a look into the SMJHL team, the St. Louis Scarecrows. They are currently ranked number 13 in the league, but upon speaking with some of the players, they have high hopes to start climbing the rankings soon. Although we don't predict that they will win the cup- we predict that they will begin to show their talents soon.

At this point we have seen all the teams play 30+ games this season and there has been some movement from some teams, but STL has stayed un 13th, only above VAN who has kept their place in 14th. STL has won 10 of their 32 games, loosing 21 in regular time and 1 in overtime. This is much less than the leaders of the season, Quebec, who have won 23 or their 33- with 3 losses in OT. STL were only able to clench 1 win in the preseason out of their 7 games.

Lets take a look at one of the favored players, Axel Hamalainen, who has an outstanding 766 minutes on the ice so far this season. He is definitely a coach (and crowd) favorite. No wonder he skates laps around other players, this is his 4th season on STL in the SMJHL and will be looking to move to the SHL next season. Although he has been a rock star all seasons, this season is not looking to be quite as high scoring as his second season on STL as he had an outstanding 19 goals scored as a Right Wing- which is the same position he had played his first season. This season he is primarily playing as RD- switching it up from his stint as LD last season.

Axel's assists are not too shabby either, with this season having 8 making a career total of 79. We would love to see him hit triple digits this season if possible. With his TOI being 23:56 (more than any of his seasons yet) we predict that he has plenty of time to hit this goal. We love his Face Offs- having 35.3% wins, his highest of any of his previous seasons by far. The crowd always seems to be able to hype him up and give him the courage and motivation that he needs to show out on the ice.

His strength this season seems to be his takeaways, as it is only halfway through the season and he is boasting 40- even more than he has had at the end of any of his other seasons in the SMJHL.

One player that we would like to see put a little more effort into training and his game is Lukas TCHM (on his first season in the SMJHL). He is a Right Wing and is still at under 500 minutes on the ice this season, with an average TOI of just 15:34. He has been able to score 4 goals during his time on ice, which the fans are grateful for, but would love to see that GF/60 come up from 1.5 into the 2s. Sources say that he is in the negative in his bank account and may not be able to afford to go to training this week with his teammates. We're keeping an eye on you Lukas- show us what you've got!

Thanks for tuning in to literally the first time I have ever attempted to understand hockey statistics. Go easy on me Wink
