Tony Pepperoni
@Sean

The transition between STHS and FHM. Tony was one of the elite players who walked both lines. An elite player on both sides of the engine, Tony’s legacy is one of being one of the most dominant players in the S50’s. Then sacrificing points to becoming a defenseman in his later years with Baltimore to continue his career. 701 points in 728 games in FHM. 345 points in 400 games in STHS.

Drafted in the 2nd, 25th OA in S43. A user who slipped because of his inactivity with his prior player, Tony this time around made sure to make the most of it. Walking into the start of Edmonton golden years, his first season in the league, S45, he won a cup. Snowballing from there, Tony went and became an immediate contributor to Edmonton, becoming a solid 2nd line player for the next couple seasons. Tony’s first breakout season came in S49, with his ascension to 1st line left wing. Scoring 55 points in 50 games. Securing his first achievement in the SHL, 1st team All Star. Then, in the playoffs, winning his 2nd cup of his career.

His first major season came in S51, where he scored an amazing 66 points in 50 games. Leading the league in points, securing 1st All Star, Ron Mexico Win, Jeff Dar Nom, and an additional nomination for Anton Razov for almost leading his team to their 3rd cup win.

Then there was a transition right around his peak. With the switch to FHM, now the question is, can he sustain his MVP levels in the new engine? With just entering regression, how long can he stay as one of the top players in the league?

The answer was, right away.

S53 saw Tony become one of the premier players in the league, even with the switch to FHM. Scoring 24 goals, 33 assists for 57 points in S53. Securing a 2nd All Star Team. In the playoffs too, Pepperoni produced. Reaching the finals with the Blizzard, Tony led the league in points for the playoffs. With 20 points in 15 games played.

In S54 he became one of the best players in the league. Scoring 27 goals, 47 assists for 74 points. Good for 3rd in the league in points for that season. Good for another Ron Mexico nomination, and another 1st All Star Team.

S55 was another great season. Scoring 25 goals, 44 assists for 69 points. Tied for 4th in the league in points. Tony was nominated for the Jeff Dar, and got another 2nd All Star Team.

S56 was the last season of 50 games played. With that, he regressed abit. Only 18 goals, 32 assists for 50 points.

S57 was the last season of major note for Pepperoni. Scoring 3- gpa;s. 48 assists for a career high 78 points. Tony won his first 3rd All Star Team. Tied for 8th in the league in scoring. S58 he also had a career high 37 goals, 34 assists for 71 points. 3rd in the league in goals for that season, and t-16th in points.

As regression started to hit Tony more, and his playing time decreased. He settled into being a 50-60 point player over the next 4 seasons. From S59-S62 he settled in nicely, scoring 60,56,64, and 51 points over that time. Then in S63 he switched to defense for his final 2 seasons. Scoring 38 points, and becoming the 5th person ever to reach 1000 career points.  S64 was his final season of his career, scoring 33 points before calling it quits.

At the time of retirement at the end of S64 Tony Pepperoni had 439 goals, 607 assists, and 1064 points. Becoming the 5th player to reach 1000 points ever. Leaving the league with a Ron Mexico win, and a nom, a Sarmad Khan win, 2 Jeff Dar noms, 2 Anton Razov Noms. Lead the league in points once, winning 2 Challenge Cups. Tony had a career that few people has ever had. For this, he is 23rd
