With week 2 done we are into the halfway point of the season. We have seen some exciting hockey so far and lots goals have been scored. Let's take a look into the race for Jay McDonald trophy which is awarded to the player with the most goals in the season.

1. Cale Salad - 34 Goals  Forge
Leading the pack is Cale Salad, maybe a bit unusual name to be leading the scoring. He is known for his amazing playmaking ability, but this season on top of that he has scored his career high 34 goals in just 33 games. It certainly helps when you have veterans like Ricky Koivu and Graj Virrok playing alongside with him. If Philadelphia can keep their impressive run going on he is going to be the favourite to win this award.

2. M'Baku Olubori - 31 Goals  Platoon
M'Baku Olubori, with 31 goals, is not far behind. Known for his explosive speed and silk smooth hands, you can't ignore him when it comes to top contenders for this award. Olubori was 2nd place last season with total of 56 goals. Impressive about his goals are that he has only scored 2 power play goals. He got replaced this season by Ray Alexander in platoons pp1. His avg time on ice has also decreased from previous seasons. It's going to be interesting to see if he can keep this pace up without 1st powerplay minutes.

3. Viktor Hargreeves - 29 Goals  pride
Last season top scorer and points leader Viktor Hargreeves sits 3rd place with 29 goals. His sharp shooting and excellent positioning have made him a consistent threat in the offensive zone. Hargreeves' vision on the ice and his ability to anticipate plays are on a top level in this league which are big factors why he is one of the best scorers in this league. He has formed one of the most dominant duos with Oskar Scholz and they are living up to the expectations. With bit slow start to the season Hargreeves has came back to his level and expect him to be top contender or even back to back winner for this award.

4. Peter Tingle - 28 Goals  Specters
Every year there are new people who we haven't seen in these lists before and this year we got Peter Tingle. Playing now his 6th season Tingle has really popped off goal scoring wise. With half of the season left Tingle is only 2 goals away from his career high of 30 goals. Like salad he is known for his exceptional level of playmaking ablities, but has added scoring to part of his game. He is paired up top line with Luca Pane who owns one of the best shots in the league but has struggled to score so far. Will be interesting to see if their roles will be reversed in the second half of the season. Either way very impressive scoring from Tingle so far.

5. Erik Bergmark and Sad Ketchup - 27 Goals  Platoon  syndicate
Sharing the fifth place with 27 goals are Erik Bergmark and Sad Ketchup. Starting with Bergmark who has been reliable scorer for platoon throughout his career. With combination of his incredible hockey iq, speed and laser perfect shot he is always going to be considered one of the contenders for this award. Like Bergmark, Ketchup has really high hockey iq even though he is still really young. Considering this is Ketchups sophomore season he got really bright future ahead of him.
