Welcome back to the second round of the playoffs, where I'll be giving ya some brief notes on each game to help you keep up to date and informed on stuff happening in the playoffs this season.

Starting in the Western Conference:
pride  San Francisco Pride (Pacific 1st) vs Los Angeles Panthers (Pacific 2nd)  Panthers

Game 1: 7-6 OTW SFP  pride
A back and forth game throughout this one would see Los Angeles hold the lead throughout the majority of the third period after breaking the 5-5 tie. Until Logan Webb would come in clutch and score with 14 seconds left to tie the game and force overtime. Viktor Hargreeves would be the hero completing their hat trick 3 minutes into overtime to win game 1 for the Pride. Chuchichaschtli Zopf was dishing the puck well from the back end, garnering 3 assists in this one.
Game 2: 8-2 SFP  pride
A 4 goal first period for the Pride would see them strike 3 times in a span of 1:30, with Laraque picking up an early shorthanded goal. San Francisco would keep pushing forward and build on the lead and win this one by a large margin. Justin Time would make 30 saves to backstop the Pride to a win in this one. Logan Webb put up 3 assists, with Schattenaxt and O'Beirne picking up 3 points each as well to lead the team to a win. Sydney Shaw was great on the back end  and blocked 5 shots in this one.
Game 3: 6-5 SFP  pride
Los Angeles had an early 2 goal lead in this one before a 6 goal run by San Francisco would see them take the lead. The Panthers would strike with 3 goals late in the third period but would be just a little late in their comeback and drop the series to 3-0 SFP. Toasty was on fire in this one, picking up 1 goal and 2 assists playing from the point and adding 7 blocked shots. 
Game 4: 7-4 LAP  Panthers
San Francisco pushed up to a 4-1 lead early in the second period, but Los Angeles battled back hard to score 6 straight with the last one being an empty net dagger. A much needed win by the Panthers has them avoid the sweep and force a game 5. Adam Prpich and Andren Akerson each put up 3 points in this must win game, with Pass Forfeit blocking 7 shots to lay the body on the line in this elimination game.
Game 5: 6-5 OTW LAP  Panthers
A battle of the special teams in this one, each team would score 2 power play goals and a shorthanded goal each. Los Angeles would lead the game 5-2 to enter the third period before three goals in the third by San Francisco would tie it up and force overtime. The Panthers would stop the Pride's run of 3 goals with the overtime winner from Evan Winter to push the series to a game 6. Kirby and Prpich would have 3 points each in the win, with another big defensive game from Pass Forfeit with 4 blocked shots and 1 takeaway. Viktor Hargreeves had another hat trick and added an assist for the Pride.
Game 6: 6-3 LAP  Panthers
Los Angeles flew out the gate with a 2-0 first period lead  and would increase it to 4-0 in the second, before San Francisco would pull within 2 goals in the second period. An early third period power play goal would make it a 1 goal lead, but the Panthers would kick it up a notch to make it 6-3 with 5 minutes to go. Los Angeles has been on fire and have won their last 3 games, being on the verge of getting swept to pushing all the way to a game 7. Adam Prpich had 3 goals and 4 points in this one, and Axel Kirby had 4 assists as they had amazing performances to force game 7 in the series.
Game 7: 7-3 SFP  pride
After dropping the last 3 games, San Francisco came out and left their mark on the game and series. After exchanging the lead for the first half of the game, San Francisco would break the 3-3 tie with 3 minutes left in the second period. The Pride would turn it up in the third period, outshooting the Panthers 19-12 and scoring 3 goals in the final 20 minutes. Justin Time came up clutch with 33 saves, and a trio of Mercedes Bayle, Luke Laraque and Viktor Hargreeves each had 3 points in the most important game of the series. San Francisco avoided the embarrassment of a reverse sweep, and Los Angeles almost pulled off the hardest series comeback possible but just came up slightly short.

Result: 4-3 San Francisco  pride

Renegades  Texas Renegades (Central 1st)  vs Minnesota Monarchs (Central 2nd)  Monarchs
Game 1: 6-0 TEX  Renegades
Texas would come out and play some hard defensive hockey, limiting Minnesota to 22 shots in this one. Their penalty kill unit would go 4/4 in this one and tally a shorty while Anthony Dionne made 22 saves and recorded a shutout. Marton Diehm had a hat trick and great defensive games from Pawter Meowski, Mads McBride, and Chris Valentine helped Texas take game 1.
Game 2: 7-4 TEX  Renegades
Minnesota would take the lead in the first period, but Texas would fire back to make it 5-3. They would hold on and extend the lead throughout the second half of the game and take this one 7-4. Hodor would block 6 shots and gather 2 takeaways, Jack McCarthy would block 7 shots and get 1 takeaway as they helped hold the lead for the Renegades. A 2 point night from 6 players on Texas, their deep roster pushes them to the win in this one.
Game 3: 5-2 TEX  Renegades
Texas would never really be in trouble in this match, they would get the lead in the first period and hold it throughout the entire game. Anthony Dionne made 22 saves for the Renegades, a 2 goal night from Petr Svoboda and 2 points from Dirty Boots, Lasse Zeigler and James Dion earned Texas a big win to make the series 3-1.
Game 4: 8-5 MIN  Monarchs
Texas would start off the beginning of the game strong, taking a 2-1 lead in the first period and making it 4-2 in the second period. A huge third period from the Monarchs would see them score 5 straight goals for a huge surge in offense to make it 7-4. Texas would get 1 goal back but Minnesota would win this one 8-5. Binko Koivu had a third period hat trick and Hai Nam Hoang had 4 points with three assists in the third period in order to come back and win this one.
Game 5: 4-1 TEX  Renegades
Texas dominated this game and outshot the Monarchs 44-19, after a scoreless first period the game would be tied heading into the second intermission. The offense would break through in the third period with 2 goals from David Doug and Diehm adding 1 more. Dionne made 18 saves and posted a .950 save percentage in order to clinch the series for the Renegades. Hodor had another big defensive game with 7 blocked shots, Jack McCarthy would add in 3 takeaways and 1 blocked shot. Meowski, Diehm, Valentine, Dion and Doug each had 2 points in order to take the series in just 5 games.

Result: 4-1 Texas  Renegades

In the Eastern Conference:
Forge  Philadelphia Forge (Atlantic 1st)  vs Atlanta Inferno (Atlantic 2nd)  Inferno
Game 1: 4-2 PHI  Forge
Atlanta took the first lead of the game but Philadelphia would tie it before the second period, after trading goals Antonio Flusso would score the game winner halfway through the third period. Philadelphia would put up an empty netter in order to put this one out of reach for the Inferno. BASE PACK made 33 saves and had a .940 save percentage in order to put the team ahead 1-0 in the series. San-sam Emerson and Gnabe Dabson each put up 2 assists in the win, with Ubba Lodbrok having 1 goal and 1 assist. Shots were even in this one but the Forge were just able to finish on their chances while PACK shut down the Inferno.
Game 2: 4-3 OTW PHI  Forge
Atlanta would dominate the faceoff circle, winning 71% of the draws and scored on 2 of their 5 power play opportunities. With Atlanta going up 3-0, Philadelphia would start climbing back with 2 goals in the second period and would score a shorthanded marker with 4 minutes left in the third period to make it a tie game. Barg Hazbite would end this one 31 seconds into overtime, grabbing their second point after a play from Dabson and Shuffleboard. Dabson had 3 points and Shuffleboard and Hazbite each had 2 points in the win. BASE PACK turned aside 42 shots and had a .930 save percentage. Cale Salad had a great defensive game with 1 assist, 1 blocked shot and 1 takeaway.
Game 3: 8-2 PHI  Forge
Philadelphia would chase Jim Wen from the net with 2 goals on the first 5 shots, but the Forge would score three more goals in the first period to make it 5-1. It would be too much of a mountain for the Inferno to climb, with the Forge making it 8-2 for the final. A three point night from Virrok, Soprano, Hazbite, Carda and Wood, the entire Philadelphia team was contributing in this win. 33 saves from BASE PACK and a .940 save percentage made sure that Atlanta didn't climb back.
Game 4: 7-6 OTW PHI  Forge
Philadelphia would have the edge in shots 57-47 in this thrilling game. The Forge took a 2-0 lead before Atlanta would tie it at 2-2. It would be 3-3 2 minutes into the third period, but Philadelphia would make it 5-3. Atlanta would score 3 straight to make it 6-5 and it was looking like they would force a game 5 until a late period equalizer would make it 6-6. This one would need extra time and Gnabe Dabson would clinch the series sweep 10 minutes into overtime. A 3 point night from Graj Virrok and Tony Soprano helped force overtime and clinch the win. Cale Salad had 2 goals in the third period for the Forge as they are the first team to advance to the third round.

Result: 4-0 Philadelphia  Forge

  Stampede Buffalo Stampede (North East 1st) vs New England Wolfpack (North East 2nd)  Wolfpack

Game 1: 5-4 OTW NEW  Wolfpack
Buffalo would outshoot the Wolfpack 56-38 in this matchup but Olof Karsikko would lock down the net with 52 saves and a .930 save percentage. Buffalo would have two early third period goals in order to make it 4-3, but Seamus O'Slapahan had the equalizer with 2 minutes left in the third to force overtime. Sean Davies had the overtime winner 7:44 into the extra period to take game 1 of the series. Nathan Cormier picked up his third point of the game with an assist on the winner.
Game 2: 5-4 BUF  Stampede
New England would tie it at 4-4 with a late second period shorthanded goal, but Konstantin Selich would bury the game winner with just 5 minutes left in the third period. A 2 point game from Furious Chicken, Shootin Blanks, Konstantin Selich and Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez helped Buffalo win this game. Buffalo had the edge in shots and faceoffs in this one, as they tie the series up at 1-1.
Game 3: 7-4 BUF  Stampede
It would be 3-3 heading into the third period, but a wave of offense from the Stampede would make it a 7-4 win for Buffalo. Five-Hole Sieve made 39 saves with a .910 save percentage as they outscored the Wolfpack to win this one. Prince Marius had 3 assists and Konstantin Selich had 2 goals as the Stampede win it in a dominant fashion.
Game 4: 6-1 NEW Wolfpack 
The New England Wolfpack would take a first period lead and then build the lead throughout the game, Buffalo would get a goal back in the third period but New England takes it 6-1. Thomas Sawschuk and Kenny Omega would each put up 3 points in this matchup, but it would be Olof Karsikko putting up 31 saves and a .970 save percentage who would clinch this win for the Wolfpack. Pork Tenderloin would block 5 shots and add 1 takeaway from the point as the series is tied heading into game 5.
Game 5: 5-2 BUF  Stampede
Buffalo takes game 5 to push the Wolfpack to the brink of elimination. Going up 3-2 in the second period, Buffalo would put up 2 goals in the third period to make it 5-2 and out of the reach of the Wolfpack. James Lutz had 2 points for the Stampede, and Jarrod Lakemore was dangerous at both ends of the ice, blocking 4 shots and getting 1 takeaway to go along with 1 assist. Five-Hole Sieve had 34 saves with a .940 save percentage to backstop Buffalo to a 3-2 series lead.
Game 6: 5-1 NEW Wolfpack 
A big bounceback game from the Wolfpack saw them outshoot Buffalo 50-31. After going up 2-0 in the first period they would expand that lead to 3-1 by the end of the second period. After two more goals in the third, New England would force a game 7. A 3 point night from Lily Jin Morrow and Thomas Sawschuk allowed New England to avoid elimination and get a shot at a game 7. Seamus O'Slapahan had 7 blocked shots in this one, 5 more than his closest teammate  and Olof Karsikko was excellent with 30 saves and a .970 save percentage.

Game 7: 6-5 OTW NEW Wolfpack 
A thrilling back and forth game in this one, the game would be tied 1-1 after the first period, before buffalo would have a three goal second period to make it 4-3 entering the third period. A shorthanded goal from New England would be followed up by a powerplay goal by Buffalo to make it 5-4 Stampede. With 4 minutes remaining Lily Jin Morrow would get the Wolfpack back on the board with the late tying goal. Antoine Beauregard would end the series 15 minutes into extra time, finishing off a set play from Ozolinsh and Lacksamus as the Wolfpack advance to round 3. 43 saves from Karsikko would have them post a .900 save percentage in the final game of round 2, while Lacksamus caps off a three point night with an assist on the game winner. O'Slapahan was great as always with 2 assists and 4 blocked shots, and Jaxson Reaper had 4 blocks and 2 takeaways to help New England advance to round 3.

Result: 4-3 New England Wolfpack
