FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The 4 Star Foundation is proud to announce the 4 Star Kids program! The 4 Star Kids program will provide vital equipment, such as Skates and Sticks, to kids in the Winnipeg Metropolitan Area who have an interest in hockey but may not be able to obtain the things they need to get on the ice. "It's a program that we really need in the area," said Chuckle Moustache, a zamboni driver for many local rinks in the area. "I'm so excited that more kids are going to get the chance to learn and fall in love with the sport." Not only will the 4 Star Kids program provide equipment, but they will also offer hockey camps throughout the year. The first camp has already been announced, and is being put on by SHL alum Chippy Chiclets and Winnipeg Aurora's Johnny FourStar, whose 4-Star Foundation is sponsoring the entire program. "It's going to be a lot of fun to get back out there and teach some kids how to play hockey," said Chiclets. "Johnny told me no body checks, but let's be real, that's my bread and butter. These kids are gonna be tough as nails!" "This is something I've wanted to do for a really long time," FourStar opined outside of the Canada Life Centre this afternoon. "Winnipeg has given me so much during my time in the SHL, and I want to give back and build the hockey community in town. Hockey is for everyone. Our mission is to not let finances get in the way of playing the sport we all love." Families can sign up for the program on their website, 4starhockey.com. The first camp is scheduled for next month, and scholarships are available for kids who need them by applying on the website. (301) |
