Good evening, and welcome to the Season 75 SHL Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony!

To start tonight, I would like to remind everyone of the voting rules!

Each member of the committee (10 people in all) nominates 5 retired athletes from the list of eligible players and ranks them 1 through 5, which in turn gives these players points according to their rank (10 points for 1st, 7 for 2nd, 5 for 3rd, 3 for 4th and 1 point for 5th).
Each committee member must also provide a short written piece to support their choices.
These points are then totaled, and all players who receive 35 points or more are selected to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

For GMs, committee members are allowed to place 2 votes, with 1st being 10 points and 2nd being 5, and a GM must receive at least 65 points to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Before we celebrate those who made it, let’s take a chance to recognize those who graced our ballots for the final time this season.
Twenty-eight players were on the ballot for the final time during Season 75 who unfortunately did not garner enough votes to be inducted into the SHL Hall of Fame.

Our first inductee should be little to no surprise to anyone who has paid attention to the league over the past 20 seasons. In his 25 seasons, he was a part of 6 All-SHL teams, was nominated for the Mexico 3 times (1 win), won a Khan, 2 Karpotsovs, a Razov, and 6 Cups. Those accolades alone would make for an incredibly strong HoF resume, but he also, in his more than 1500 Regular Season games played, had 1.02 P/G, and currently holds the SHL Career Records (Regular Season and Playoffs) for Most Goals (699), Most Assists (1088), Most Points (1088), and is 4th on the Most Games Played list at 1789. It's not surprising, then, that this player received one of the few unanimous 1st place ballots and the first in many seasons. Please join me in welcoming to the SHL Hall of Fame . . .

Awards:

2x 2nd Team All-SHL
3x 1st Team All-SHL
1x Anton Razov Winner
2x Ron Mexico Nominee
1x Ron Mexico Winner
1x Sarmad Khan Winner

6x Challenge Cup Champion (S51, S53, S56, S58, S61, S63)

[Image: 6196.png][Image: 4984.png]

Committee Quotes:

"The absolute GOAT in the SHL, holding the record for most goals (600), points (1,500+), and assists (900+) all time. He is also 1st all-time in shots with 5412. That, along with the fact that with over 1500 games played, he finished his career at over a point-per-game pace, playing mostly in the STHS/pre-FHM inflation era, which is incredible. Wilson also has the most Challenge Cups ever, with 6. On top of that, he has an incredible 6 All-SHL nominations, which is tied best out of anyone in this HoF class. Nobody will ever have a career like Wilson, in my opinion."

"A whopping 6 All-SHL nods, 5 award wins with an additional two nominations, and SIX freaking cups to go with it. Already the easiest shoo-in for the Hall this round, Aaron Wilson played for a literal quarter century and made the absolute most of it. Well over PPG in the regular season, and very close to it in the post-season, Wilson would be a standout in any eligible class."

"I think he's clearly one of the most dominant players in SHL history, six all-SHL appearances, multiple-time MVP nominee, two-time points leader, and six cups."

"Wilson is probably the SHL's GOAT. He was productive immediately and productive for a very long time. He retired with an immense amount of hardware, 6 Challenge Cups, 6 All-SHL selections, the all-time points lead, and is a slam dunk first-ballot Hall of Famer"

While it may be hard to follow who many consider to be one of the greatest SHL players of all time, the rest of our inductees have had excellent careers in their own rights. Our next inductee played on the other end of the ice and has one of the more iconic names for his position. With 6 All-SHL appearances and an incredible 5 nominations for the McBride, resulting in 4 wins, and 2 Honcho wins, he proved that he deserves to be considered among the greatest to ever tend the net, even if he never won a Challenge Cup. Please join me in welcoming our second inductee tonight . . .

Brick Wall

@brickwall35

Patriotes : S64 - S72
Inferno : S73

Career Regular Season Stats:
GP: 491 | W: 277 | L: 173 | OTL: 27 | Min: 28,649 | SO: 38 | SV%: 0.908 | GAA: 3.114

Career Playoff Stats:
GP: 75 | W: 36 | L: 33 | OTL: 6 | Min: 4,566 | SO: 1 | SV%: 0.903 | GAA: 3.219

Awards:
1x 3rd Team All-SHL
1x 2nd Team All-SHL
4x 1st Team All-SHL
1x John McBride Nominee
4x John McBride Winner
2x Mike Honcho Winner
1x Ron Mexico Nominee

[Image: 6041.png][Image: 4733.png]

Committee Quotes:

"Wall was one of the best goaltenders the SHL has ever seen, let alone the best of his era. 4 McBride wins alongside an additional nomination, as well as being a Ron Mexico finalist for league MVP as a goaltender, show just how dominant he was over the course of a stellar career."

"Brick Wall is what the modern-day FHM goalies wish they could be. He has an incredible 6 All-SHL nominations, which is tied as the best out of anyone in this HoF class. He also won six awards, which are the most out of anyone eligible for the HoF this season (one more than the GOAT Wilson), and an additional two nominations. He also had a 62% win percentage. What makes this feat even more impressive is Wall accomplished all this in only 12 seasons."

"It just might be a literal crime that Brick Wall doesn't have a single cup, but that does not detract at all from everything else he managed to accomplish in just 12 seasons. He had 6 All-SHL appearances, SIX award wins (one of which was a Ron Mexico) with two additional nominations, and a stat spread that easily surpasses the HoF average, including a beefy 61.3% winning PCT."

"The 6-time all-star has 5 McBride noms (4 wins) and 1 rare Mexico nom. It would have been nice to see more wins and games played, but 12 seasons is still a sufficient amount for Hall of Fame consideration, and I don't think any goalie has been as dominant as Wall over a 12-year career."

Our third inductee tonight also had an excellent 18-season career. A prolific goal scorer, twice winning the Jay McDonald for leading the league in that category, and a prolific two-way forward, he provided a Dar-nominated defensive game on his way to 4 Challenge Cup championships and 4 All-SHL selections. Please join me in congratulating our next inductee . . .

Committee Quotes:

"What a career this guy had. A Razov, two-time goal-scoring champ AND a two-way forward nomination to boot, four cups, I'm baffled he never made it for MVP consideration, and perhaps even more impressively, his scoring numbers are not heavily skewed towards power play points."

"Sulfurgold was an elite player with 2 goal-scoring titles, 4 cups, and over 1,000 points to his name."

"Sulfurgold was a prolific goal scorer, twice winning the Jay McDonald for leading the league in that category. Also a prolific two-way forward, Sulfurgold provided a Dar-nominated defensive game on his way to 4 Challenge Cup championships and 4 All-SHL selections."

"4 all-SHL appearances and two scoring titles en route to four championship runs. Also hit the thousand-point mark in his eighteen seasons."

Tonight, our 4th and final nominee made 4 All-SHL appearances and had one of the most dominant defensive careers in recent nomination history. 3 Defensive Award nominations while not letting his offensive production fall behind is impressive for any defender. His 3 Challenge Cups and insane TA/GA ratio help lock his spot in the hallowed halls of the SHL Hall of Fame. Please join me in congratulating . . .

Jonas Kahnwald

@Festinator

Panthers : S58 - S66
Argonauts : S67 - S69
syndicate : S70 - S72
Panthers : S73

Career Regular Season Stats:
GP: 1056 | G: 191 | A: 474 | P: 665 | +/-: 297 | Hits: 1176 | SB: 1854

Career Playoff Stats:
GP: 208 | G: 30 | A: 85 | P: 115 | +/-: 71 | Hits: 236 | SB: 365

Awards:
2x 3rd Team All-SHL
2x 1st Team All-SHL
1x Bojo Biscuit Nominee
2x Scott Stevens Nominee
1x Scott Stevens Winner
3x Challenge Cup Champion (S65, S67, S68)

[Image: 6009.png][Image: 5009.png]

Committee Quotes:

"With 4 All-SHL nominations, Jonas has the third most selections out of anyone eligible for this HoF this season. He also has an impressive 3 nominations between Stevens and Bojo and one Stevens win. Jonas also has the most points out of any true defenseman eligible for this draft class with 665 and the best point-per-game percentage with 0.63. Jonas also had over 1,800 shots blocked and more than 600 takeaways, which show his impressive two-way abilities ranking near the top of eligible defensemen."

"My favorite thing about Jonas Kahnwald is his absolutely bonkers TA/GA ratios in both the regular and post-seasons, especially where he has double the HoF average for D in the regular season. That stat aside, he also had 4 All-SHL appearances, 3 cups, and 3 award nominations with one Scott Stevens win over a 16-season career."

"Four-time All-SHL man, Stevens winner AND Biscuit nominee, three cups, and a very respectable sixteen-season career."

"Kahnwald was the type of defenseman who elevates good teams to greatness, as seen in his 3 cup wins with two different teams. A Stevens winner and two-time finalist who combined elite offensive production with stellar defensive play, he has more than played his way into a spot in the Hall of Fame."
