This is my 20rd weekly random ramblings around the Jr league and SHL. Please feel free to PM me if you have anything to contribute or add.

Starting off with anything replied from last time, about... holy crap over a month ago! I really messed up. Dang. Feel free to catch up right about....here

Mass retirements in protest to the cost of playing going up 3%

According to reports, there was a mass retirement of players in both the SHL and SMJHL over the Head offices raising the price of escrow 3%. This money will be recouped by the league and the players can collect it back if the various endorsement deals pay off. Around 75 players in total have hung up their skates, threw away their gloves, and swallowed their mouth guards for the last time. We reached out to the Head offices for details, but they refused to answer. So instead we asked people on the popular SHL chatboards on Myspace:

@HillsHaveHats goes on record as to say : "I’ve toiled in this league for four long seasons. Every day, I’ve spent my blood sweat and tears toiling in the minors hoping to one day come to the SHL and make the money I can use to support my family. I just can’t believe the SHL would do this to us"

@JamesT said "Wait, so I'm stuck on Czechia forever now? That's not what you told me I was agreeing to!" He also posted a picture of something called kpop and I don't know what it means.

- @cake307 From now until the new year, Alexa Johansen has agreed to donate 1 dollar for every Blizzard sold at every Edmonton Dairy Queen locations. All donations will go towards the new NO-FUND-ME website, which is a non-profit, is set out with the goal of taking down all non-profits. We don't know why Alexa is supporting this, but we suspect @Seany148 is to blame.

- @JamesT Kim Chaewon has a new line of hockey tape out, which contains pictures of various Kpop people. So now you can get the limited edition Rose. Complete the look with a Bruno Mars strip right on the toe of the blade , uh huh uh huh.

-@Ara Roisin Armagh has started a clinic for all those SMJHL players who refuse to block. They currently lead the Tidal in blocks, and are 2nd in the league. According to Armagh: "Blocking shots is all about timing, positioning, and a bit of fearlessness. You have to read the play, anticipate the shot, and commit to putting your body on the line for the team. It’s not always pretty, but every block can make the difference between a win and a loss, so you just embrace it and go all in." Clinic's are being held virtually on zoom, as well as in person.

-@kahri Betzee Nickelback of the Manhattan Rage has decided that hat tricks are too much fun, and has asked fans to stop throwing hats on the ice. "Why throw Hats? They are like, 30-40 dollars each" Betzee has asked fans to instead throw bananas. "The Bananas are a great snack for the ice crew, players, and we can donate them to a food bank OR make banana bread to donate. it is much better than hats."

-@jason97 Normand Marineau has informed the Minnesota Monarchs that they better open up their wallet , as they are going to expect 10 entire dollars per goal when they get called up. said Jason "If they want goals, they should pay for them. I'm not giving away free goals."

-@skyrrhawk Céleste Desjardins has started a ride share service in the Manhattan area. Using a trailer from Harbor Freight and some foldable chairs, Desjardin tows the trailer behind the Zamboni during rush hour. "It's great, traffic is horrible anyway and no one is going over 5 MPH, so the Zamboni is perfect, plus it is picking up all the trash along the way" This is also related to a league wide investigation into the ice quality on Manhattan's home ice. According to players, the ice "is covered in trash"

-Looking for great last minute holiday deals? Try going on ebay and looking up NR, NO RESERVE and buying some of those weird coins or old toys people are trying to sell for a penny. Worse case; it's haunted. Best case, you give that haunted gift to someone you don't really like anyway! Like @CloudRobot always says "If it is Haunted, it is prob important"

(about 950 on the words, about 2 months worth of research, and at least 3 conversations with seany which are the worst. I only need to do one more podcast with him and I can finally be free to do my own podcasts, but he keeps delaying because he really wants to be my friend, but I told him the same thing I told Conan O'Brien: No. Thanks grader Happy New year!)
