Captain Obvious Joins the Draft! (obviously) (2x SMJHL media)
#1

What makes Captain Obvious different?

With the declaration of Captain Obvious joining the upcoming SMJHL draft, Gms, owners, and players from around the league are all asking, what makes Captain Obvious different from any other pick.

Well, it seems pretty obvious to me. He isn’t afraid to tell you how it is, obviously!

Captain Obvious isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. He has a focus on his defensive game more than anything. With a strong backcheck, defensive presence, and his ability to check opposing players, Captain Obvious will work to get under other players skin, forcing turnovers, wearing down opponents, and overall just making sure his teammates can focus offensively, and keeping his goaltender safe in the crease.

While his defensive game is stout, Captain Obvious isn’t afraid to work the offensive zone either. He has a grasp of solid, and accurate, shooting, as well as solid puck handling. He is aware, obviously, of his need to expand his offensive skills somewhat, but he wonders why. His defensive game allows him to shore up so much for his teammates to take advantage of, and his penalty kill potential is huge.

The hardest part for Captain Obvious joining the SMJHL draft, however, is giving up his growing career in commercials, obviously. I mean, where else is Hotels.com going to find anyone with a name like his for their commercial campaign? I mean, sure, I guess they could lie and tell you someone is named Captain Obvious or something of the sort, but why would they need to when they have a real Captain in the Obvious army reserves? Obviously he’s in the reserves, because he has time to spend on your television screen and, now, on the ice playing on the left wing.

So why draft Captain Obvious?

The choice is Obvious.
