Please pick ONE prompt to write about. Do not mix and match prompts. Identify the prompt you are using in your submission - Copying and pasting the prompt will deduct from your word count so if you do this make sure YOUR submission is 150+ words excluding the prompt.
Written Option 1: It was a stupid minor penalty, one that was very obviously a call, but one that any pro hockey player shouldn’t make, yet here you are, in the box during overtime in an elimination game no less. Looking at the play anxiously you wait for the dying seconds of the penalty so you could get out there and make amends… but those seconds would never come. The goal horn rings out in the arena as your team is scored on and the series is over. What was the call that got you in the box? What were the thoughts going through your head as the penalty you took was what gave your opponents the momentum they needed to win the series? If your player is a goalie, imagine the perspective from on the ice either as a teammate taking a dumb penalty or a teammate having to serve a penalty you took and letting in the overtime series ender. Graphic Option 1: Create an image of your player in the penalty box’s reaction to being scored on in the series ending overtime or create an image of your player’s reaction to letting in the series ending overtime goal. Written Option 2: The playoffs are always brutal. Except for a very lucky few, usually things don’t go your way. As a user, what have been some of your biggest playoff frustrations in your player’s career thus far? Is it personal performance? Team performance? The strength of another roster? A rivalry eliminating your team time and time again? Graphic Option 2: Create an image of your player in the handshake line after a series loss. You will receive 3 TPE for fulfilling all requirements. All responses are due on Sunday, May 25th at 11:59 PST. NOTE: IF YOU SUBMIT/EDIT AFTER THE DEADLINE YOU WILL RECEIVE REDUCED/NO TPE. Graphics need to be viewable when PT is graded or you will not receive TPE. Discord only hosts images for very limited time. Affiliate claims from either PBE or ISFL or WSLB or SSL are accepted; link directly to your post and note if your username is different there. If you have any questions/concerns, please PM me. Tasks with malicious intent will not be graded. The graders reserve the right to determine malicious intent, after discussion with me. You will not be warned. This task is for SHL players and send downs only. If your player is S83 or S84 this is not for you. PT credit: Naomi ![]() Deep Dives Head Deep Dives CO
I would say that some of the biggest playoff frustrations I've had is a user, pretty much come down to personal performance. Due to a couple of periods of inactivity on my part, I feel like my player has not been as useful to my team as they could have been in the playoffs. That applies to both the shl and smjhl. The point being that how to not meant to PE had I not missed tasks I think I would have done better in blocking shots, screening, and all around just being a better defender. Going beyond that I think that the other big frustration for me has just been that a lot of our competition that has eliminated Us in the playoffs, has just been that good. Time and again we would end up against opponents that either would not in a rebuilding year or some quirk of the sim, beat us

Task 2:
William Salming is an SHL veteran. This is his 24th season in the league so he definitely has some major disappointments in the playoffs. But the biggest one came in the IIHF. Finland hosted the tournament of season 68 in Tampere. Finland lost the final against its rival Sweden. That is the toughest loss of Salming's career. It still comes to his dreams and he sees nightmares about that game. In the SHL side, Seattle lost finals of the season 66 to another expansion team Atlanta Inferno. It hurt also pretty much at that time because that series meant so much more than just winning the cup. it was about pride and rivalry between two expansion franchises. Luckily then Argonauts won back-to-back cups after that on season 67 and 68. William Salming has lost two finals during his career and those two times are mentioned in this text. Losing in the earlier rounds is not so bad but losing in finals is a situation where you never want to be in. ![]() ![]() SHL GM Empress of the Foxes, Bringer of Freedom
Written Option 2: For me, the biggest playoff frustrations haven't been as a player, but as a manager and tactician. In truth, Alexa has only been to the playoffs in the J, and never was on a team that seemed truly competitive there. But as Co-GM and coach for STL, Twice we've made good deep runs, and seemed real threats, only to get eliminated handily by Carolina both times. Of course, this latest time the team was honestly performing well above expectations in eliminating Ottawa and San Diego just to reach the conference finals, but being swept in a crushing defeat by Carolina felt like a let down after such an effort. The first time, though, the Carolina team was better, but not better enough to have won the series 4-1, in my opinion. For whatever reason, nothing seemed to work for us, and Carolina easily beat us down in the gentleman's sweep, going on to the finals. Hopefully this season is the season for STL!

Option 1: Its overtime of Game 7 and Anchorage and Kelowna are tied. Patrick has had a fantastic game thanks to the help of all his teammates.
How did we get to overtime? Anchorage had a 3-2 lead with less than a minute left. Kelowna got a draw in their own end and immediately pull their goalie. With the extra attacker Kelowna was able to put a ton of shots on net. @Jonnyhockey17 was standing on his head. The Anchorage 1st line was getting tired and looking for a clear. Kameron Urchin-Mullen @hotdog jars the puck loose in the corner. He is skating with 3 Kelowna players rushing him. He sees the empty net from the defensive blue line and takes a shot. It looks good... it will seal the series... it hits a divot in the ice and goes right. ICING. There is still 7 seconds left. Kameron had time he just rushed it. Kelowna players are letting him know it. "A little premature huh KUM?" They are saying to him over and over. Kelowna gets the face off win over a very tired @JDUB_55Real and takes a shot from the point that gets tipped in. As the puck goes in 2 Kelowna players start to mock Kameron to his face "Premature Premature Premature, what a rookie move". Patrick is over them ragging on his friend. Patrick skates over and gives a forearm shiver to the players and a scrum breaks out. Refs break it up and what is this? Patrick is getting assessed a 2 minute unsportsman like. Anchorage will go into OT a man down.

Written Option 2:
In my opinion the biggest playoff frustration has been more on a user level rather than an individual player level. For Mumei, she’s only had one playoff run to this point and that saw New Orleans reach the conference finals for the first time in many seasons, only get gate keeped by San Francisco during their reign of terror. And speaking of which this is not the first time that San Francisco has costed a player I created in the playoffs, as in S76, my old player, Videl Valor was apart of the Baltimore Platoon team that reached the finals as the presidents trophy winner, only to get steamrolled by a then much inferior San Fran team, in which would begin their dynasty. In the IIHF, Videl kept getting blocked of a gold when she was playing for Japan, often getting bridesmaided by teams such as Ireland, Canada, and Finland during this time. If this was 4-5 years ago this would’ve bothered me more, but it’s not the case today. (174 words) ![]() ![]() ![]() SHL GM SHL GM

You want to talk about Playoff frustration? Let's talk about Nevada's first two playoff series with me. Rookie season. We finish mid table and face a fairly equally ranked San Diego Tidal. Claude during that series performs well. The catch? Our team forgot how to score. In fact, I was out goalied by a vegetable, Cauliflower Pizza. Even worse, working at a Grocery store, I was missing one item. I was looking for it all day. Where was it? In the wrong section behind the box of Cauliflower Pizza. HE ESCAPED THE SIM AND RUINED MY REAL LIFE AND SIM LIFE WITHIN 24 HOURS! We eventually fall 3-1, take it to six, and at that time, Claude and Cauliflower Pizza are on low energy. Claude does well though, Pizza's save percentage is terrible, but we get outshot to hell and loss. Next season, really, all we can say: We were the underdogs went up 3-0, then got reverse-swept. Kahri must be bullied for the rest of my career. ![]() Commissioner Turtle Lord ![]() File Worker Posting Freak ![]() Head Office egg egg egg egg egg egg egg egg

Heartbreak. That's what it all comes down to. A stupid penalty to take, and an obvious one, but one that the refs had let go all game, but this time the refs decided it was worthy of a penalty. Now Spiff sits in the box with his head down as the goal horn sounds for the home team. The crowd roars, and Spiff's heart breaks again. Game 7, it was so close, and now it's gone. Now it's next season time. Maybe. Who knows if the free agents come back or if management decides to blow it up. Spiff is young, and so is most of the team, but you never know what people will do when the season ends like this. Spiff lifts his head, taking inspiration from Ted Lasso, and pushes it into the back of his mind. Be a goldfish, learn and move on. Spiff exits the box and joins the handshake line with the opposing team. Next season, when they meet again, Spiff won't make that mistake. Next time, it's his turn to celebrate. 178 words ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Registered Posting Freak |
