Drahoslav Kovar Signs a Contract With the Impact
#1

Approximatley one hour after announcing he was playing in the NWJHL this season, Drahoslav Kovar has inked a contract with the early favourites this season the Montreal Impact.

Kovar, being Slovakian

General Manager Benjamin Wong had this to say:

Code:
Drahoslav helps solidify our top-6 and it really was a no brainer to sign him. His shot and abilities handling the puck make him an elite player in the NWJHL right now, and if he can work on other aspects of his game he should be a fantastic SHL player in the near future.

Kovar has stated he received several offers from other teams but decided to join the Impact due to their contending status, high quality friendly players and quality general managers. Along with those reasons it is doubtless that their ability to develop players into high quality prospects.

The 6'0'' 190 pound centreman from Senec, Slovakia is being expected to fill a top-6 role in the always hockey crazy city of Montreal. Hopefully Kovar can handle the pressure as recently Slovakian players like Jaroslav Halak and Marian Hossa have shown themselves to be clutch in the play-offs and at handling high pressure markets.

Some of the players decided to make some comments:

Send down from the Toronto North Stars, Smirnov Light:
Code:
Kovar looks like a great player. What an excellent prospect to be adding to the team. I'm excited to see him in an Impact jersey. VIVE L'IMPACT!

Recent draftee Stefan Di Gennaro:
Code:
Kovar is a beast. I hope we'll be linemates at even strength or on the powerplay at the very least.

First overall selection, Roman Schultz
Code:
He's a fantastic player, surprised he decided to come after the draft but I'm definitley pleased to have him as a teammate now. Looking forward to this season. VIVE L'IMPACT!
