A surprise to many in the SHL, the Winnipeg Jets reeled off 7 straight wins to make the playoffs as the 4th seed. Their reward? Facing the president's trophy winners, the Edmonton Blizzard. Two teams who have had some great matchups in the playoffs before meet once again. We know who the favourite is, but you know the Jets would love nothing more than shatter the Blizzard's Cup aspirations. Here is a look at the past matchups between the two in the playoffs.

As you can see, the Jets and Comets/Blizzard met in the first 3 seasons of Edmonton's existence and the Jets didn't do very well, losing all 3.

Then, there was a big gap for these two teams, not meeting again until Season 12, where the Jets finally bested the Edmonton franchise. Needless to say, the Jets are undefeated in the playoffs against the Blizzard version of Edmonton.

If there's one thing to expect from this series, it's a long one. 3 of the 4 series went the distance to Game 7, with Edmonton winning all of them. Even the season series this year was even. Let's take a look:

The Jets record against the best team in the league was a solid 3-3-1, but as you can see, the Jets have won the last 3 contests. Maybe they're getting the better of the Blizzard?

As much as people may believe that this will be a whitewash for Edmonton, don't be surprised to see the Jets give them everything they can handle.
