The Hamilton Steelhawks handed out big time paying contracts to their three rookies this off-season. This three prospects will have big roles in this teams future as they cover all three positions of Forward, Defence and Goaltending.
Magnus jakobsen who is earning 7 million dollars this season, will be getting sent down to play for the Vancouver Whalers. He will be spending his second season in the SMJHL this season. He wants to show that he can dominate the league and he knows he would be stuck in 3rd/4th line playing time in Hamilton so it was best for his development in the eyes of himself and the GM of LVshark and Hallsy. Jordan hall feelings of Magnus Jakobsen as a prospect "Here in Hamilton, feel like he isn't quite ready physically to play with the big boys in the Simulation Hockey league, he has the speed, the talent to score but we feel he needs to round out his defensive game so we can trust him with important minutes in the Simulation Hockey league. We feel that he can be a big time player for our roster and he will be an important piece in our future something me and Blaine want to focus on as we have a lot of veteran players that is closer to retiring than playing their first season in the Simulation Hockey league.I also know that he is going to a good team with a great GM that knows how to develop SHL hockey players in coolstar and I think Magnus will have a great season this season for the Whalers." The next prospect going down to play in the SMJHL next season, is an unknown prospect who people thought he wasn't available to get drafted this upcoming season in Volker Bayer-Holtby. It was a surprise pick but the Hamilton Steelhawks brass is confident that he will be a great pick for this team moving forward. He has yet to play for a Simulation Major Junior Hockey League Game so it is unknown how his player is going to produce but he has a lot of potential is one of the rawest players in the draft. He has top Pairing Potential but he could bust and be a third pairing guy. "Volker Bayer-Holtby is a guy I knew he wouldn't be ready for us this season, we have a deep core right now and feel that he could learn a lot more playing in the SMJHL. We are unsure what team he is going to go to but we hope its a team that he likes as it will be an added bonuses as if he gets to choose where he goes, he will be going somewhere he wants to go. It would suck if he had to sit and play with a team that he doesn't want to play with. He is a smooth skating defence men that can move up the puck, he has great skills with the puck but we would like if he could be more of a physical and stronger player as we want to be a team that no one can push us around. I think he is still two years away from playing in the Simulation Hockey League but he can change that if he develops quicker than expected and can be a guy playing in Hamilton soon." The next prospect that hamilton is sending down is Kevin griffin, Kevin griffin looks to be a solid goaltending prospect that could be a starter one day. He will push Winnifeild as the starter position could be won/lose if he plays like poo but he is still a couple of seasons away. we feel that he could be an important piece in our team moving forward and having depth in the some important position is a great thing as Hamilton has a decent starter, and a great back-up add one of the best goaltending prospects in the league and this team is set for a very long time. Jordan Hall Thoughts " Kevin Griffin din't have a great season with Detroit last season but i think he will play a lot better this upcoming season as he is going to be one of the top goalies in the league on paper and he will be playing in a league where he made some rookie mistakes and he will be a leader for the falcon team. We feel he could be a starter in the Simulation Hockey League and he could be an important piece in the future of this hockey club. he will bring a active presence to the locker room something that is always great to have. I wish him the best in the upcoming season." Hall thoughts on sending them down " It is very rare to have a rookie to have an impact on our roster from day one now days and we feel it will be a better fit sending them down and playing as they can train, be among the best in the league and dominate. I always liked dominating a league versus being a 3rd- 4th line scrub. These three guys will get experience winning and being the best so when they come up they can win and be the best in the big leagues. we want these guys to be star players as any other GM would want out o their prospect.
