Renegades Daily! Or should we rename it Renegades weekly.. anyway, every Monday and Wednesday we will be recapping all your Renegades highlights and news! Tonight the Renegades took on the pesky Calgary Dragons. Sit back and relax, Renegades daily is up next!
RENEGADES.... DAILY! <BK> Welcome to the Monday Installment of Renegades Daily. I am Bob Kelly, and alongside me is my host Bill Longley. Tonights first game yet again features the Calgary Dragons and the hometown Renegades. <BL> Remember the last time these two played? Bad blood in those home and home games. Been a week since, lets see if the blood carries over. <BK> We skip 18 minutes into the first period where Slevin Kelevra gets pushed into goalie Verminski by Labsvards. Bill is this a penalty!? <BL> Absolutley not. The Dragons defenseman pushed Kelevra into his own netminder, and I don't think the ref had seen the intial push. Too bad for the Renegades as they go to the Penalty kill. <BK> Coming into this game the Renegades had the number four penalty kill coming into this game. Ensuing powerplay for the Dragons, very nice puck movement having the Renegades chase them around, and the Dragons execute perfectly, as Spruill finds Newly acquired Corey Tripp at the side of the net for the easy tap in, 1-0 Dragons. <BL> The Renegades don't have a top 5 penalty kill if they play like this. Sloppy kill for the Gades and they pay for it with a goal. <BK> Start of the second now and it starts bad for the Gades as Hayha goes to the box for 2 minutes for holding Barkov. <BL> Hayha is a veteran guy and he needs to know he can't do stuff like that. Bad penalty. <BK> Dragons to another powerplay, and only 15 seconds in, Barkov's wrister from the circle beats FourFour fivehole and it is 2-0 Dragons. <BL> Penalty kill wasn't bad this time around, but that is a shot FourFour needs to have. <BK> The penalty trouble continues again as Prime Time slows up Tripp and sends the Dragons to their 3rd powerplay of the game. <BL> Soft call by the ref. <BK> Already two for two on the powerplay the Dragons go to work again and puck movement results in another goal as Barkov feeds Tripp backdoor for his second of the game <BL> Nice awareness by Tripp, however the Renegades defenders need to acknowledge who is behind them. <BK> As the period winds down the Renegades pick one up as Alex Daigle snipes one right over Verminski's glove for his 5th of the season, lead is cut down to 2. <BL> Excellent shot from a guy you wouldn't usually see score! <BK> However that's all the Renegades could muster as they lose this game 3-1. <BL> The gades had all the pressure in this game, out shooting the Dragons 38-18. They need to try different things to be able to score on Verminski. <BK> We stand by with coach Elias Armia. <BK> Elias, what do you think went wrong out there tonight? <EA> Well, special teams stunk for us. We had 5 fucking powerplays and didn't convert on any of them. Our penalty kill was atrocious. We went 0% and all three goals scored on us were on the penalty kill. FourFour played better in this game, but we need him to be able to stop those shot like the five hole one on the second goal. <BK> Any line changes coming soon? <EA> I don't think so. This is one loss in the last three so I think we can run with these lines again. We just got unlucky. <BK> Thanks for your time Elias. <EA> Thanks. <BK> Alright we are back, and the next game we have on our schedule is the Texas Renegades and the Seattle Riot. <BL> Renegades need to bounce back in this game. <BK> For sure Bill. <BK> Into the game we go! 10 minutes into the first period, Hans Schultz checks Hayha into the boards but get's his stick up and sends the Renegades to a powerplay <BL> That is the result of not controlling your stick. You need to watch for it even when delivering a check <BK> Ensuing powerplay, the Renegades pin the puck in the Riot zone Kelevra rips one into the back of the net, 1-0 Renegades. <BL> Excellent trap displayed by the Gades here, puck never left the zone, they just had to wait for the right time to shoot it. Spot on execution by Kelevra. <BK> Kelevra gets rewarded with his 1st career SHL goal! I guarantee you he will be keeping that puck for years to come! <BL> What a joy it is to pot your first career goal. He will surely enjoy this moment! <BK> Later in the period Langdon trips up Byrde and sends the Gades to another powerplay but they cannot muster any chances. <BL> Bad powerplay for the Gades, they really could have taken a grasp of this game early, but they don't so the Riot are still in this game. <BK> We go to the second period, and only 5 minutes into the period, the Riot finally get the puck out of their zone and head down the ice on a two on one, Rico Salmon finishes the play with a nice shot over FourFour's blocker to tie this game up at 1! <BL> Good pressure shown by Salmon, and no he isn't related to the Gade's Chico Salmon! <BK> Yes they are two completely different players! Around the midway point of the period, Lionel Byrde stands in front of the net and it seems Rose does not like how close he is getting and Rose two hands Byrde in the leg to send the Renegades to their 4th powerplay of the game. <BL> Rose need to know he cannot do that. <BK> Ensuing powerplay, the Gades cannot get the puck into the Riot zone until halfway through where they finally set up but it's the defense scoring so far and Hayha and Carlzner pass back and forth and finally Carlzner rips one over Rose's glove to give the Gades a 2-1 lead halfway through this period. <BL> Amazing patience shown by these two veterans on this play. They waited for traffic to get in front and finally got that perfect shot. Good job to Byrde as well for creating the screen and drawing multiple Riot defenders towards him. <BK> Now nearing the end of the period, Paulson goes to the box for hooking and the Renegades go to their 5th powerplay of the game. Ensuing faceoff, Byrde finds his way to the side of the net, and recieves a perfect pass from Partlow but he cannot finish! As Rose dives across the crease to get his toe on the puck. <BL> Absolute robbery displayed here by the Riot's young goalie! Byrde will be devastated about this if the Gades lose. <BK> However the Renegades would get it back soon after as Chris Partlow dekes around Langdon and finds his way into the slot where he shoots right under Rose's glove to give the Gades a 3-1 lead heading into the third. <BL> Nice hands shown by Partlow here. He beats the defender and finds the back of the net. <BK> We go to the third period, Rose has the puck behind his net while his team changes and he finds Claude Perron streaking up the middle, he drops it back to McZherl who enters the zone and gets around Hayha, he goes to the net and puts it top corner for his 11th of the season! Riot only down by 1! <BL> What a goal by McZherl but how about that pass that Rose made to Perron! This kid is a sophmore! Playing like a seasoned veteran right now. <BK> Speaking of seasoned veteran, things go ugly for Rose as he shows his frustration towards Byrde again. <BL> Byrde backing into the crease, Rose pushed him away and Byrde came back, Rose said he had enough and grabbed Byrde by the neck and brought him to the ice. Rose needs to control himself, he is still a young player, but he needs to know he cannot do that. <BK> Byrde would be okay, but would go to the room due to team precaution, Rose was given a 5 minute major for Unsportsmanlike and Game Misconduct! And in comes Marshall Macpherson, but it was too late for the Riot as the Renegades take this one by a score of 3-2. We stand by now with Simo Hayha. <BL> Hey Simo, nice win out there tonight! <SH> Thanks Bob! <BL> Actually I am Bill... <SH> Oh sorry, my bad man. Thanks Bill* <BL> *Laughs* It is okay man. So how do you think your team played tonight? <SH> The team played awesome tonight, we were firing on all cylinders and it showed in game as we killed the Riot in shots and we just outplayed them tonight! <BL> Any areas you think the team needs to work on in the coming games? <SH> Nothing we need to majorally work on, but we need to continue practicing our Special Teams, as the PK and PP have been getting better as the days go on. <BL> Thanks for the interview Simo, good luck tomorrow. <SH> Thanks. *Walks away* <BK> After an exciting day of highlights, I am your host Bob Kelly <BL> And I am Bill Longley <BK> Goodnight from the folks at RENEGADES DAILY! <BL> By the way our next show will be on Wednesday, so stay tuned! 1607 words
