The Vancouver Whalers won the S18 Four Star Cup and that ended it, the era was over. Thomas King was being called up to the recently Challenge Cup winners in the Seattle Riot, and Marek Vyskoc and Kaspars Tsziling were both drafted to the SHL. At the same time as well, and guess what's crazy?
They were drafted to the same team in the New England Wolfpack. Tsziling was drafted 15th overall and was picked too high ph34r.gif Meanwhile, Marek Vyskoc was a great pick at 8th overall who needed a forward to step in. They also had other picks in the draft. Kaspars Tszililililing or a.k.a Kaspar's scouting report read; Tsziling is very mobile for a man of his stature, as he moves quite effortlessly in all directions. He uses his large frame and reach to his advantage when defending, especially off the rush. While there is the odd time he gets caught out of position defending, Kaspars was learning on the fly as a pro in the SMJHL and should get better in that regard as he gains more experience. That all being said, he plays a safe, relatively mistake free game in his own end and will learn to take the body with more regularity as he gains experience. Kaspar won’t ever be known as an offensive defenseman except for that flukey playoffs, but he is a good passer with a heavy and accurate shot that he seems to almost always hit the net with. I will do one for every member of the Vancouver Whalers championship winning squad. |
