Slack is a multi-platform chat communication tool.

It will replace your traditional chat platforms like Chatzy, Stinto, Kik. It has a lot of powerful features such as notifications, private messaging, private chat room, embedded content, typing notifications, push notifications to your phone, editing your previously submitted messages.....

Even when you're not in the site, you're in the site. You'll be alerted of any questions or messages you received when you were out of the program as soon as you return.

Anyone can create their own private chat rooms and you can only join if you're added by one of the members of the room.

It's a really sleek chat system and I use it at the company I work for. Best of all for the SHL - it's scalable and free.

I know it's difficult to change platforms when things haven't necessarily been broken, but take a look at Slack.

So we need to give you our email address for you to invite us to use the service?

That's the only drawback. To deter random people joining/spamming, you need to be invited via email.

There is no signup, I just need to have Slack send you an email to invite you.

I've been playing with it. It's pretty nice actually to be able to interact mobile and at my computer. Chatzy blows but it was the only option I thought.

Also this will send me a notification if something I'm interested in is mentioned which I like a lot. Pretty cool stuff really

PM me your email address and I'll send you an invite.

I assure you I won't use your email address for anything other than this.

This is actually pretty damn neat. Still poking around, but it's pretty streamlined and seems to perform well. Plus, as has been said, being able to get on it either on mobile or desktop is awesome.
