Gibbon For Hall of Fame?
#1

I will start this by saying Gibby probably will never retire.

That being said...

Personal Achievements

Stats
Gibby has 915 Games Played, most in SHL history.
He is 9th all-time in Hits with 1797 hits.
He is 16th all-time in Short Handed Points.
He is 69th all-time in Assists (yes i just put this here because its 69)
Finally he is 70th all-time in Points.

Trophy Case
He is a 3 time Challenge Cup Champion (S14, S20 and S21).
In S12 he won the Aiden Richan Trophy for most improved player, with a 46 point season.

What do people think?
SHL Games Played Leader, Three Time Challenge Cup Champion, has an individual award, top 10 in Hits All-Time... Would Brenden Gibbon make the HoF?

If he plays for two more seasons and is the first player to play 1000 games... is he HoF then?

What do the people think?

For me he isn't a Hall of Famer although he isn't that far away. The whole games played record thing just has gotten a little to gimmicky for me lately with him only averaging around 3 minutes per game for a few years now, sometimes he isn't even in Texas' lines and doesn't play a single second yet the stats still countr it as a game played just because he is on the active roster...

Currently the statsheets I pump out only include the seasons if you've played at least 100 minutes of ice time.

52 games x 2 minutes = 100+
So his point stands.

I know, what I mean is that he doesn't play in every game anymore yet the sim counts every game as a game played as long as a player is on a teams active roster. So a player who maybe only played in 20 or 25 games in a season still gets credited with 52 GP if he was on the teams roster all season.

I guess the end-all solution is PPG and average stats to see if his longevity matters. Compare Gibby's stats to other HoF guys with the same longevity for a rough comparison

This season he isn't in the lineup, but last season I believe he was still on the 2nd PK for most the season :D

Just thought it would be a funny thing to think about Tongue

With the SHL Hall of Fame getting harder to get into than the NHL HoF I doubt Gibby gets in unless we create a special Gibby wing for him. Since we see a lot of names that could have gone in but didn't make it.

Oh it definitely is, I just think that if we want to induct a player mainly based on one stat this stat should at least be reliable and sadly games played doesn't really seem to be Smile

Gibby will be a legend regardles of if he is in the HoF or not :D

Well if anybody has a good way of determining how many games somebody actually played from just the Team Scoring Pages, I can make it more accurate. But right now I think Minutes Played is the best way. Removes the send down issue and players who didn't do anything.

I don't really think there is a way, it'd most likely have to be done through the individual game links.

i could do something like that, but the thing is we don't have every game for every season, so it would just be inconsistent. Undecided

I could raise it to 200? at least 10 games at 20 minutes. Average of a little under 4 minutes a game?
