Because I am Le Poor, ask me anything you want! And Ill get back to you asap!!
You had a great rookie season in the cut throat world of goaltenders, what was your favorite moment? In a season that had so many ups, and not a lot of downs, its hard to pick one moment for me. This year was definitely a learning process. Whether it was learning about the league, learning everyone's name, or even learning how to dance like a pony, I had a great time as my first year as a Falcon. I think if I had to pick one moment, it would be when I learned how to win in the SMJHL. My first win. 6-2 against the Firebirds with a statline of: Austin Lemieux (DET), 16 saves from 18 shots - (0.889), W, 1. That was the very moment I gained some confidence in myself, my defense (Thanks Girard), and my team as a whole to score goals to make it a bit easier on me. To add to that, it was at home, and there is no place I would rather win my first game than on home ice, and give our fans the entertainment they payed to come see. Can you shed some light on winning the Kevin Hart Trophy as voted by your teammates? I am truly honored to win that award. Id like to first take a moment to thank the almighty father who has blessed me with the privilege of accepting this award. Id also like to thank Google.ca for letting me express my comments on this forum freely and without any dictatorship/censorship rules. I think my teammates are all a bunch of funny guys, and I am so happy to be picked as the funniest. I think it stems from the fact that I really don't have much of a filter on here. If I want to say Nezorov was a beast at his position of coffee getter in the press box this season, Im going to say it. I understand Im a rookie goaltender, and there is greatness at my position in both the SMJHL and the SHL. But if you can't beat me once St. Louis, Im obviously obliged to rip your team a new one in an uncalled for article. Anyways, again, thanks for the votes boys! Do you have a response to the Darren Dregger rumors of you potentially holding out if not draft by an expansion team? (COULDN'T WAIT FOR THIS ONE) Yes, and that is all I really am going to say for now. Again, I'm a rookie. I don't want it to sound like I am some Kovalev who wants to play on a certain team, or have more starts. However I do want to start something big. I want to be the face of a brand new franchise. Would I turn down an ELC from a few SHL teams? Yes. I want to be on a good SHL team just the same as I was lucky enough to be on a good SMJHL team with the Falcons. I don't mean good on the score sheet either, I could care less if we were even worse than the Whalers this year. I want to be on an active team, with good people, and I just am seeing a lot of good guys wanting to play for these two new teams, and I think I would be a great fit in starting a new organization. What are your hopes and expectations regarding this upcoming draft? With that being said, I want to be drafted to a really active team, It would be awesome if I knew what team needs to address goaltending, but that is a Gm's call. I do know two teams that don't even have a starter yet, and I would love to earn one of those spots. Obviously big names pop out too like Merica, Storm, Ragnar, and FourFour. and If they needed the best goalie that will come out of this draft, they know who to talk to. Round wise, I couldn't really care. I mean, It would be nice to be noticed and valued like I was in my SMJHL draft, I would hope my draft stock it has improved though seeing my dedication, and hard work throughout the season. My rookie performance speaks for itself, and I know it doesn't mean anything until we win that cup in these upcoming playoffs. Goalies always have weird pre game rituals what's yours? I wake up in the morning and do everything the same way every day. I like to eat Lucky Charms with no milk for breakfast, warm-up in different shorts and jersey than what I’d wear for the game, bring my pet rock to the game, and drive to the arena. One of my rituals/superstitions was to always start basically everything on my right side first. In other words, if skates needed to be tied, or pads needed to be put on, the right one got done first required I alternate diving, For games, I’d also put my water bottle on the left side of my goal and if there was an extra pucks, I’d keep them on the right side corner. All Goalies have some kind of brain damage at what point did you realize you suffered from this or did you just wake up one morning deciding to stop bullets for a living. I don't this it is brain damage, as much as it is money hunger. 2m to just stand in a net and save pucks that are coming toward the square net behind me? Yes please. Its really not that hard to do. Half the games I ride the pine anyways, so its a easy payday if all I have to do is hold a clipboard all day. Don't get me wrong though, it is hard work, and I put 120% in all the time, it just seems like easy money rather than other career options. What do you do on the bench when bowden is playing and don't lie I saw you playing peek a boo with a fan last week. I usually have a clipboard, and tabulate some stats for the coach, but on occasion I do interact with the fans, and watch the game. Its exciting, I get the best seat in the house for free. :D As much as I like playing, I don't mind sitting out if Bowden is hot. We need to win games, and I totally agree with "you win, you're in" system Mook had going this year. Different teams play eaiser for me than him, and vice versa. If you had to be in a goalie fight with any goalie who would you beat up and why? Probably Sergei Kozar, Hes a big guy, and probably the only reason why the Crows were decent this year. I feel like if I could throw some hands, and maybe impair his vision a little, it would help other teams put more pucks behind him. We had no problem doing so this year, but other teams definitely struggled producing against him this year. What is the meaning of your goalie helmet? Its pretty self explanatory, its peter griffin just showing that he is superman. It doesn't mean that I am superman. Or that I am peter griffin, it is simply him, in his beauty. I have Detroit logos all across it, its pretty sick if you ask me. How do you feel about Nevzorov being named one of the expansion GM's? I love it, he was great this year in the press box. Fetching coffee was his day job, and now, hes moving on up in the world! Now he can get extra larges! I think he is a hard worker, and will be able to make a great team. Again, he is probably a huge reason why the Crows were so successful this year, he is a good cheerer, and really gets the guys pumped up it seems. He was also St. Louis's former GM, so he has experience with the sim, and how to run a team. On a scale of 1-10 how much of a scrub is Nevzorov? I'd say a 3. The guy makes a mean dark roast coffee, he even whip creams it! There aren't many other people who give the amount of effort that he does. He is in competition with all Tim Hortons, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, and butlers for the best coffee, and boy does he deliver. I think what puts him over the top is how fast he is. He has trained to be a Goaltender, so he has those quick hands to make those French Vanillas asap. The only reason that he gets a 3 is because he is on St. Louis, eventhough he wears a suit instead of a Jersey, he still is just as much of a scrub as any of the Crows. Automatic 3 at minimum. Favorite shooter to face in a game? Id have to say Robb Wind. Probably the best sniper out of the last SMJHL draft. He is a challenge, and has beaten me a couple of times, but its never enough to beat us as a team, its fun that way. I get pumped when I make a save on him, so much satisfaction. I'm sure we will see a lot of eachother in the second round since Montreals chances of winning a playoff round are slimmer than Jenny Craig. How are you preparing for playoffs? First off, Id like to thank my sponsor Powerade, I fuel up everyday with that delicious beverage. Its really tasty, and helps me to practice and play to my full potential. Everyday I wake up and the Impact are on my mind. There is no way that Crows are coming back, so I have written that off, and am scouting every player on that roster. I think that the bye really helped our team. We needed rest and work on a lot of things to prepare for the playoffs. Bowden has taught me the ropes on how to win in the playoffs, and Im hoping to do just that for the Falcons. I've said from the start that I want to win a four star cup before I enter the SHL and that is exactly what I plan on doing. We have a good route too. It sucks that the Crows aren't going to play us, but I'm confident in our team, and how we are playing that we can go for a deep run this year. I workout everyday, and try to improve on my weaknesses daily. If only I could get faster.. Whatever happens though, I will be proud of what we have accomplished this season. We won the Presidents trophy, and have proven that we are a threat in this league. Go Falcs. Any thoughts on SMJHL expansion? I think it is good for the league to have more teams, and more players in general. I just hope I don't get moved. I know the GM's are going to do what is best for their teams, but I love the Falcons, and I will always be a Falcon at heart no matter what. It will definitely will add more competition, and more prestige to winning to cup in the minors for sure. How do you feel about Detroit's chances against Montreal? I feel really confident, I think you have to walk the thin line of confidence and cockyness. We have a really good shot to win this whole thing. Our season speaks for itself in how we play and operate as a unit. I know what we did vs them in the season, but the Playoffs are such a different situation, so much more intense, it really brings the best out of players. I think with how good our team is as a whole, we can pull off a 2nd round win. We want a back to back. Its plain and simple. Our locker room is buzzing with so much hype, THE HYPE TRAIN IS ABOUT TO LEAVE THE STATION. CHOOO CHOOOO. Do you feel more comfortable in goal thanks to the Falcons' high offensive output? Of course. I am so lucky to be in an orgainization with such a talented offensive unit. Our offense makes picking up those W's so much eaiser. Its hard to lose a game when your offence is consistently put up more than 4 goals a game. and with my GAA at around 3, like I said, it is just hard to lose games like that. I find that our team scores a lot of goals in bunches, those unanswered goals suck the heart out of most teams, and really shut down their will to win. It would really be difficult to play for a team that doesn't produce offensively. I wouldn't be as successful as I have been this season without all of those goals being scored. 2184 Words
