Head GM John Heimer-Schmidt
GM John Heimer-Schmidt in the picture, most do not know what he is doing in this picture, thinking about the team, the season, trades, or even looking at himself, not many know how this man operates.
Although most believe he is looking at himself in the mirror.

Coach/Assistant GM Drew Myers

The coach and Assistant Gm of the Whalers. In this picture he is currently in a practice drill with the team and is helping the team improve and build lines.
Drew Myers is widely considered the sole reason while the Whalers were in the finals to begin with his line combos seeming to find perfect chemistry.

Hello ladies, look at your team, now look at my team. Look at your team, now back to my team, look at your team, and back to my team. They have a cup, now back to yours. Do they have a cup? But back to my team.
Sadly you don't have our cup. But you could've if your team became exactly like the Vancouver Whalers
Look up, look down. Where are you? You're on the ice with the cup you wish you had.
What's on your stick? Now back to me. I have it. It's a puck heading straight for your net
Now look again. The puck is now the 4 Star Cup! Anything is possible when you are the Vancouver Whalers this season. Let's look at these Whalers and see what they will likely do in the season. Starting with the Goalies of the Whalers

Whalers Goaltenders Whalers

Backing up our starting goaltender Tyler NoNerves this season the Whalers have drafted this Greek goalie that many are comparing to Jonas Gustavsson AKA the monster of the Detroit Red Wings. While his time will be very limited for the Vancouver Whalers, they still hope that he can make a solid contribution to the team and hopefully win a couple of games for them.

Tyler NoNerves

NoNerves has pretty much become a common sight in the back up role while backing up star goalie Erik Lundqvist for 2 seasons. A staple for the Whalers in the locker room, he is currently in his third season with the club. Well liked in the locker room for his loyalty and funny nature, fans also like to hear him talk in interviews. Tyler has remained quiet for the years but one thing remains certain, he wants to win the cup in Vancouver. Last year for the Whalers, Tyler did not have a fantastic showing while Erik Lundqivst was in the SHL for 12 games. He amassed a record of 5-7-1 over 13 games. Not the best showing of when he was a starter for his first couple of games, However, he has trained hard recently. Look for him to drastically improve on those numbers this year!

<div align="center"> WhalersDefence Whalers </div>

Despite the fact that the Whalers have always been known for being a offensive team with some focus on defence, JHS has a bad defence draft last year but followed it up with 3 top defensive draft picks with Cody Black, Wyatt Wolder, and Alexi Orlov. Look for the Whalers D squad to have improved the teams GA from last year

Curtis Crawford

While not the person that will talk in the locker room ever...or at all Crawford will be playing as the #7 defender for the Whalers this season. Despite being a cup winner from last year's roster, Crawford is a Offensive Defensemen who focuses more on scoring than defending his own net. might as well be a foward with his offensive stats, look for him to contribute some points while he is on the ice during his short shifts

Paska Jakaitis

Picked 3rd round by the Kelowna Knights back in S23, Paska joined the Whalers through a trade with superstar Richard D'Amour after some tension happened. Paska is a strong two way defencemen with a decent checking ability and is able to clear the net. He will fill the Role of our #4 defenceman and will be seen often on the PK and PP. Look for Paska to get some decent points and a good +/- in his last year in the SMJHL.

Colin Wood

[Image: philadelphia-flyers-defenseman-braydon-coburn.jpg?w=650]

Colin Wood was selected by the Whalers in the second round of the season 24 SMJHL entry draft. While looking to become a fantastic defencemen, Wood has fallen off the earth soon after as he seemed to have become a bust. This two way defender was a fantastic defencemen with a great Hockey IQ. Despite that his endurence, strength, and checking was not up to par in the SMJHL and is now the #8 Defencemen on the team. Look for him to hopefully keep an even +/-

Rostislav Pirozhkov

Free Agency pick up, the Russian Defender has been consistent for the Whalers last year on the top 4 being a back end of the team. It most certainly won't be easy to get past him while he is defending on the top 2 this year. Rostislav has some offensive capability as well earning him the jack of all trades category by his fans. Despite not having lots of TPE, He is looking to carry the team from the back end back to the finals

Alexi Orlov

Picked in the 2nd round by the Whalers and the 3rd best defencmen considered by many. Orlov is another Russian Defencmen who is also playing on the top 4. A small defencmen at 5'6, The Whalers are excited to have Alexi Orlov who is a Defensiveminded defenseman . using his small 5`6`` and 160 pound frame to his advantage, he is often seen skating the puck into the zone before passing the puck. Alexi has also been getting stronger by working in the gym and might be able to check a weaker foward. A good developing defender for the Whalers who is paired up with the slightly bigger Paska Jakatis, Expect Orlov to become a good top 4 for the Whalers and be able to contribute.

Wyatt Wolker

Drafted 5th overall from the pick received from the Richard D'Amour this year. Wyatt comes from Iceland and is currently playing on the first paring and will be on the PP as a quarterback defencemen. Look for him to play lots of confidence and skills this year with the nod to go on the first paring. Wyatt is also a very fast player able to skate with many faster players on the Whalers, look for him to get many points in his first season

Cody Black

[Image: alexander-edler-nhl-stanley-cup-playoffs...50x560.jpg]

Drafted 7th overall, Another player that the Whalers are excited to see develop in the future, Cody Black is on the top 6 due to his late arrival to organized hockey and is being given sheltered minutes. Cody Black is also another fast offensive defencemen and his 5'9 frame helps as he can breeze past many players. Expect him to score goals, pass the puck, and have a ton of fun as he can be expected to have a bright future for the Whalers

Clayton Fuller

Another defencemen draftee, Clayton Fuller is currently a top 6 player playing with Cody Black with his two way ability. While not looking to have any particular strength at the moment that can really compare with some other players in the SMJHL, it can be noted that he is developing his defensive IQ and skating ability and he looks to be a blue line defender in the future.

<div align="center"> Whalers Fowards Whalers </div>

Now its time to look to the group that won the cup last year mostly, the forwards. Always has been and always will be a strength of the Vancouver Whalers, from past superstars like Liam Kingsler, Jamie Hill, Sterling Knight, to more recent stars like Vlad McZ, and Geoffrey Allen, many forwards here can certainly dish the puck, fire a laser, lay the body, you name it they can do it.

Alaina Siliva

[Image: Ice+Hockey+Winter+Olympics+Day+5+XsulpataZiql.jpg]

Selected in the last rounds of the SMJHL S25 Draft Alaina was friends with Zach Hoover, a Whaler from last year who is now in the SHL with the Wolfpack, one of the main reasons they drafted her so late. Alaina has also a fantastic shot and can be played long minutes. Playing on the 3rd line currently, despite the fact that she has reached her potential, Alaina could get some goals throughout the season and is hopefully able to help the team

Valentin Makarov

The 4th pick by the Vancouver Whalers, another Russian joining the Whalers in Makarov the Offensive foward. Makarov plays on the 3rd line with Silva and Marshall in a somewhat more offensive 3rd line, Makarov has a decent shot and skating ability, often practicing, Makarov needs patience to possibly become a star in the SMJHL but if given time, Valentin looks to become a good future RW for the Whalers

Julie-Anne Marshall

Marshall is one of few players who is being relied on to be on the PK. Free Agent pick up late last season, Marshall adds a strong defensive presence to the forward group that really helps the offensive skills of Alaina Silva and Valentin Makarov on the 3th line. Marshall also likes to throw the body when possible and contribute a strong shot when needed. Expect Marshall to have a good +/- throughout the season

Rick James

Rick James is one of the 2 rookies playing with Captain Vlad McZehrl, Whalers Coach Drew Myers and the training group are really looking to develop some chemistry between McZehrl and McEichel on the 2nd line and increase his passing ability. Although Rick James was originally a sniper, He has become more a pass winger on a team of all shooters so Rick has already become a great fit on the team. Also friendly in the locker room and also with smile on his face most of the time, many Whalers already like the guy. He will also be feeding the SMJHL Superstar from Germany Vlad McZ and the Scottish center Patrick McEichel the puck so they can pop a few ginos. Rick is also not afraid to lay the body when the time calls for it and can drop the gloves.

Patrick McEichel

Another sniper to play on the Whalers team. McEichel has a wonderful shot rivaling many players in the SMJHL as not much have both the power and accuracy that Patrick has. Patrick plays on the 2nd line as the center, and although he may not have the best faceoffs, expect him to improve throughout the season. the development team are happy to help Patrick as much as possible to improve his skills, expect him to score lots of goals throughout the season.

Captain Vincent-Leon-Anze Draisaitl-McZehrl

The Most accurate word for the Whalers captain would be a Legend. Time and time again McZ leads his team on the ice through points and his leadership. Locker room and on the ice, Vlad McZ can be totally different. In the Locker room, he is seen often talking to his teammates, coaches about needles and eggs, what Germany is like, and what he thinks about something. On the ice, many can see why he is named captain as his shooting, puck handling, strength, skating, defence, you name it, he can do it all as the Playoff MVP from last year, the regular season MVP for the Whalers, and is currently leading the Whalers pre-season by having the most points, the captain has made a very big name for himself While the captain has been a staple on the first line the last two season he is being moved down to the 2nd line to add a nice scoring touch to the second unit and keep the Bure-Allen-Durden line together or formally known as the BAD line. Look for him to carry the 2nd line all by himself dangling in and out just like the clip above of him deking out a Surprised Kelowna Knights in the playoffs. Expect him to get 55+ points this year.

Geoffrey Allen

Geoffrey Allen's draft stock skyrocketed this last season from going in the 5th round of the SMJHL draft in S24 to being selected 11th overall by the Texas Renegades in the S25 SHL draft. Allen is one of the hardest workers both on and off the ice and is also a blast in the locker room. Never complaining about being on the bottom 2 lines, Allen worked his ass off each game to now become the 1st line sniper of the Whalers and was even the best rookie in the playoffs last season. Allen was also rumored to have become the new captain but some of the players displaced their pleasure with the move and kept the C on McZ. Besides that, Allen who is playing on the BAD line again after their success last season, Already in the pre season, Allen and Bure have not scored a single goal without each other's help. Look for Bure and Durden to feed Allen the puck as he has a magnificent shot, speed, and Puck Handling ability to give him a chance to take the SMJHL by storm expecting to score 25+ goals this season with around 55+ points.

Jack Durden

Drafted last season as the all american center, Durden has become the first line center this year and a fan favorite for his humorous behavior. Durden took over the 2nd line role last year and was the best center arguably for the Whalers throughout the playoffs through his points and his high faceoff percentage. Durden has one fantastic faceoff percentage always around 55+ and even 60. Durden also brings a good passing, Puck Handling combo as a Playmaking center. When not talking with teammates on the ice and locker room, Durden is on twitter tweeting out comments time and time again and is often defending his teammates whenever the time arrives, Durden is not afraid to let his opinion to be known. Look for the All American Center for the Whalers, to score around 50 points this year.

Patrikov Bure

While he didn't have the best offensive numbers last season Bure is looking to make leaps and bounds in that department this year. This Russian speedster was one of the few bright spots on the team last regular season scoring nearly every game before Vlad McZ woke up last season giving Bure time to rest. Bure will be passing the puck whenever possible especially to Allen. When not passing, Bure will be getting breakaway after breakaway with his super fast somewhat larger frame with 6'1 201 Pounds. Bure currently has the letter A, after all he is one of 3 players still on the team from the S23 SMJHL Draft. While his loyalty to the team has been questioned, He is a very hard working veteran who is always willing to help the rookies both on and off the ice. Bure scoring a decent 49 points last season, Bure is more known as the playoff predator for the Whalers leading the Whalers past the first round against the Prince George Firebirds with 10 points in 6 games, and also leading the team along with Captain Vlad McZ in the finals. Even scoring 3 goals in 3 minutes to help take game 2 of the finals and tie the series to avoid a 0-2 series lead by the impact. Bure became the leading scorer of the Whalers in the playoffs last year with a staggering 25 points in 16 games. Now this year look for him to score 60 points plus on the team during the regular season

That wraps it up for the Whalers squad for this year. A team looking for a cup peat this year, with the firepower to do so. With the Whalers fixing many of their past problems, look for the team to be in the finals next year

Also before I go ladies, I'm on a horse.... Backwards
