![]() German Midget AAA all-star Carson Shmyr has officially signed a contract with the Colorado Mammoth of the SMJHL. Anxiously awaited by many Major Juniors teams up until now, Shmyr is ready and prepared to step into a large role with the team. Shmyr will be flying into Denver tonight to join the team tomorrow morning. Reports say he will hit the rink first thing when he gets to America, just to feel the surface under his feet. In a recent interview with TSN reporter Jonathan Cage, past International All-Star teammate Julian Lindgren had a few words to say about Shmyr's signing. Jonathan Cage: Julian, how are you? Julian Lindgren: I'm great. Incredible in fact. JC: Sounds good. So you have heard the recent news of Shmyr's signing with the Mammoth, have you not? JL: Of course! It's what has put me in a good mood! I was one of the first he came to after getting the call, other than his manager and parents. JC: Wow! Are the rumors true that you could be considering signing with Colorado yourself? JL: The thought has crossed my mind a few times. JC: Is crossing your mind it? JL: I had a good word put in with the Assistant GM. JC: Ah. So if you play for the Mammoth this coming year, what are your expectations for the team? JL: To continue playing how they have been, they're off to a great year. Leading the SMJHL as it is. JC: And how do you think you would do personally? JL: I think that with the team being as good as they are, you can expect 20-30 points out of me. JC: High standards! JL: High skill. JC: Thanks for talking with us Julian. JL: Your welcome. Shmyr and Julian are two players who could be starting for the Mammoth this year. Shmyr is expecting Top-6 Minutes with a chance at the powerplay if possible. More information down the road on Shmyr and his Swedish ally. ![]() Registered S32 & S40 Challenge Cup Champion |
